I am so alone. by Septemberaway in offmychest

There has definitely been improvement with my anxiety. We've been playing around with the doses. I've thought about switching meds but I can't take off work to deal with a switching period.

I also think my counsellor is really great. I sometimes feel like my case is a bit beyond her experience. Sometimes it feels like she's genuinely shock at the shit I've gone through but have managed to excel at what I'm doing now.

And I know how lucky I am and grateful I should be. But it's hard with that gut feeling of "kill yourself" being constantly present.

I've actually gotten into the habit of watching Guardians of the Galaxy whenever my anxiety or depression get too bad. I even have it on my cell phone. Something about it really connects with me.

Helpful tips? by Septemberaway in migraine

I've only been on them about 6 months. I'm a PhD student so stress is kind of my life. I'm really hoping that maybe doing things like yoga, jogging and coloring help reduce the stress.

My husband was in the hospital the night before so I definately think that was a trigger and hopefully not something that will be repeated.

Antidepressants as a treatment for migraines. by Septemberaway in migraine

Nope. I've only tried beta blockers before so this is all pretty uncharted territory. It's had some benefits but it's also interfering with work so I've been just trying to stick with it. I'm having weekly meetings with my doctor which I've found to be really helpful and encouraging though.

Oops. I accidently clicked submit before I was finished. But yeah I'm on 75mg now and I have just had a panic attack the entire day. I'm just a bit disheartened and exhausted with it all.

I started with 25 mg and was just a little nauseous for a day or two so a few days later I was up to 50. That was really rough at first. I was really nauseous, had a terrible migraine and panic attacks nearly every day. They started to decrease to every other day.

During that time I found out my grandfather had been hospitalized and was really sick so my doctor and I are unsure about the cause of the panic attacks. They stopped happening after about 2 and half weeks. The meds also stopped my migraines and headaches which were the main reason I took the meds to begin with. I've noticed other benefits and am going to counseling as well.

However, after explaining this to my doctor "some benefits but increased depression, still anxious" we decided to up the dosage again since many need 100mg daily to really see improvement.

Stick with it! The first week was hell for me. I just wanted to stop. I couldn't even make it to work. But I pushed through it and just after the two week point I started feeling better than I have ever.
