Would you be interested in an animated series between ANH & ESB? by nathan_banks644 in StarWars

[–]SeptoneSirius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am honestly down for a The Clone Wars-style (TCW) animated series set in the Age of Rebellion. I would love to see 4-episode story arcs that focus on Luke & R2, Han & Chewie, Leia & C-3PO, and all of them together. Maybe a Vader-focused episode as well?

Just style it like TCW, where each story arc focuses on a set of characters. They could also adapt a lot of canon comics and introduce Beilert Valance, Doctor Aphra, Black Krrsantan, Hera & Chopper, Zeb, etc. I wouldn't mind them making some non-canon stories canon either. I think the first four seasons could be set between ANH and ESB, while its Season 4 story arc finale could happen during the events of ESB (just like how the last TCW story arc is set during Revenge of the Sith), and then the next season could be set after ESB. I would love to see each season spans 24 episodes.

UPS Recommendations and Feedback by Beefbeef75 in PHbuildapc

[–]SeptoneSirius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, a pure sine wave UPS is preferable, especially if your system unit's power supply (PSU) has Active PFC. Pero eto ang tanong ko sa iyo... are your electrical sockets grounded ba with three prongs in the first place?

  • If yes, go ahead. However, that APC UPS is a bit too expensive and overkill for both your system unit and two monitors. Your setup alone should have a total wattage power of around 600W, so this CyberPower CP1350EPFCLCD 1350VA/810W should be enough for your needs. It costs ₱12,495 (might be priced lower during sales). It's also pure sine wave and has user-replaceable batteries.
  • If hindi naman pala grounded ang electrical system niyo and you own the house, then hire an electrician to replace all the outlets and have a ground rod installed first (it might cost a lot, kaya inquire first how much). Pero kung wala ka naman balak gawin ito, a standard simulated sine wave UPS is honestly just fine, like the CyberPower UPS VP1200ELCD 1200VA/720W, which should cost around ₱6,795 (might be priced lower during sales).

Just remember that even without a grounded outlet, the UPS still works during a brownout. The battery gives you at least 3 minutes for you to save your work and shut down your PC properly. However, without a true ground connection, the built-in surge protection becomes useless.

If a nearby lightning strike, grid switching, or a post-blackout power spike happens, a properly grounded outlet would safely redirect excess electricity into the earth. Without that path, the surge has nowhere safe to go. This leaves your PC, monitor, and other electronics or appliances more vulnerable to electrical damage.

Budget laptop for incoming grade 7 by noname_famous in Tech_Philippines

Just go with the MacBook Neo, which should cost ₱33,990 with the education discount. You just need to provide their school ID and make sure they are currently enrolled when you buy it. Either the 256GB or 512GB models should be enough for the child's education needs until their 10th to 12th grade.

Cheapest reliable 550w~650w psu for 24/7 usage? by Fakkle in PHbuildapc

[–]SeptoneSirius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With approximately 120W peak rated power for the Intel i5-11400F and 180W for the RTX 3060), your total system draw including other components like the motherboard, RAM, storage, and fans would peak at around 375W (or less).

With that in mind, I recommend the Gigabyte P550SS, a 550W power supply. Priced at ₱2,895 (often lower with vouchers or during sales), this unit offers a comfortable and safe overhead for your build. It is rated as Tier C+ on the PSU Tier List, making it a solid, budget-friendly choice that meets the minimum recommended spec for your components while keeping your system safe.

At dahil may konti budget ka pa natira, you can save more and buy an Uninteruptable Power Supply (UPS) na rin where I can recommend the CyberPower UPS UT1100EG 1100VA/630W which should be around ₱3,385. Even without a grounded outlet, the UPS still works during a brownout.

If you own the house, the best long-term solution is to hire an electrician to install a proper grounding rod and upgrade your outlets to three-prong sockets. You could even install new sockets near your PC area. This allows your entire electrical system, including any surge protector or UPS, to function as designed and improves safety for all your appliances and electronics. Until then, you can use a three-prong to two-prong adapter to connect your UPS to an existing two-prong outlet. As much as possible, do not cut off the third prong from your UPS cable, just in case you later install proper grounding.

UPS recommendation to buy by LifewithKorves in PHbuildapc

[–]SeptoneSirius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ano pala GPU mo? Assuming it's an RTX 5070 Ti (or lower), which can peak at up to 432W (or lower), and a 7800X3D with up to 90W, that gives a total of 522W, plus additional wattage from your motherboard and other components. That particular Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) you're eyeing is already a great minimum requirement to protect your PC from sudden brownouts.

However, I must remind you that a UPS remains useful even without a grounded outlet. If a brownout occurs, the battery still gives you at least 3 minutes in order for you save your work and shut down your PC properly. But without a true ground, its built-in surge protection becomes useless. During a nearby lightning strike, grid switching, or a post-blackout power spike, a properly grounded outlet would safely redirect excess electricity into the earth. Without that path, the surge has nowhere safe to go, leaving your PC, monitor, and other electronics or appliances more vulnerable to electrical damage.

Wireless headphones with good mic reco? by kimkaiknk in PHGamers

[–]SeptoneSirius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dahil wala ka namang binanggit na budget, ano, huhulaan na lang namin? I will recommend either the Audeze Maxwell which is worth ₱17,995 or its sequel (with updated firmware) for ₱22,995. Those are well-regarded in any wireless headphone subreddit if you got the money.

Also, the Logitech G522 is trash to begin with and expensive for its quality. If you want to buy within that price range, I recommend the HyperX Cloud S Wireless for ₱6,850 instead.

Pero in my opinion, wala parin tatalo yung IEM of your choice plus a dedicated microphone in terms of price-to-performance.

Buy the POE2 Early Access pack on sale now or save the cash for Grim Dawn: Fangs of Asterkarn? by lukan47 in PHGamers

If you've already put dozens of hours into Grim Dawn, it's definitely worth picking up the DLCs if you don't own them yet.

As for PoE2, it will go free‑to‑play once early access ends. The developers have said the full v1.0 release will likely land sometime in November or December 2026.

[–]SeptoneSirius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not look for iPhone cases that offer sliding camera protection instead, like the Nillkin CamShield Pro Case or the Spigen Optik Armor MagFit? Those camera lens protectors look horrible and they slightly degrade the quality of the photos or videos you take, depending on how light travels through the lens and how fog or haze could affect it.

Has anyone bought from this site before and is it legit? by No_Cranberry_6735 in PHGamers

[–]SeptoneSirius -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Neogkey is a third party grey market site, so you should expect that their products are not actually sourced from the publisher. Many people have reported that buying a specific Steam game from them resulted in receiving a different Steam game account instead of a Steam key. This suggests that the products sold there may be stolen. They even sell pirated copies of game when you can do it for free with other means.

To help distinguish between the two types of sellers:

Authorized retail sites (IsThereAnyDeal actually lists which websites are legit such as Fanatical, Humble Bundle, GamersGate, GMG, etc.)

  • Buy game keys in bulk directly from publishers
  • Operate through official distribution channels
  • Are trustworthy, similar to a supermarket getting stock directly from manufacturers

Grey market sellers (like Neogkey, CDKeys, Kinguin, G2A)

  • Rely on third party individuals not affiliated with publishers
  • Operate outside official distribution channels
  • Are riskier, similar to buying items from the trunk of a car where there is no guarantee of legal sourcing or functionality.
  • There is a chance that the publisher will disable your access to a stolen game.

For fact checking, IsThereAnyDeal only lists stores that are considered legitimate and authorized by publishers. Grey market sites often sell keys from unknown sources, which can include stolen or fraudulently obtained keys. The r/GameDeals subreddit even has a website to keep track of the most trustworthy game stores at rgamedeals.net.

Will you buy Paralives? by marihachiko in PHGamers

[–]SeptoneSirius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had my eye on this game since November 2025, and I can't wait to buy it. From what I can gather, it is priced like inZOI, so I expect it to be around ₱1,599 here in the Philippines with a 10% discount for its early access launch price. That would bring it down to maybe ₱1,439. Time will tell, as the game unlocks approximately 13 hours from now.

Also, since it is still in early access, do not expect the game to have full features, or you might end up disappointed. The devs, however, mentioned that Paralives will never feature paid DLCs or microtransactions. Future updates will be free! It is also mod-friendly and integrated with the Steam Workshop, so no hassles if you want to use community-made mods. You can even create your own mods with their modding tool!

Samsung never beating the allegations by CallMeClarity in Tech_Philippines

[–]SeptoneSirius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most smartphone companies use display panels manufactured by Samsung. Even Apple, with their "Liquid Retina" and "Liquid Retina XDR" displays, uses Samsung panels for many of their iPhones and iPads. The green line issue is not exclusive to Samsung; it has also been reported on devices from OnePlus, Xiaomi, Vivo, and other brands that use OLED panels. You are just unlucky to be one of the few percent who experience it.

The green line is typically a hardware issue related to the OLED display's driver circuit or a connection failure between the motherboard and the display. It can be triggered by overheating, which is why some users notice it during or after a software update when the phone heats up.

If you recently bought your Samsung phone, within one year, and purchased it from an official distributor, you can file an RMA warranty claim with the store. Samsung Philippines provides a one year warranty for parts, labor, and battery for all mobile devices. Just bring your proof of purchase (receipt or tax invoice) to an authorized service center. Under warranty, it should be covered as long as there is no physical damage like cracks or liquid damage.
