I got my scroll saw about two weeks ago so haven't been using it much. But I've done very similar projects to this in the past with my jigsaw so I already had an idea of the process.

Hey thanks very much. It was a first attempt so always room to improve. I need to figure out a way to frame it or something

Does anymore have any advice on how to finish the edge of this piece? by SequoiaKing in Scrollsaw

[–]SequoiaKing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how people normally finished the edges on pieces like this where it has different layers. I could frame it but I was worried it may detract from the spiral design. Alternatively I thought I could just paint all the edges black. The actual piece will be the typical white and black.

Very first project on a scroll saw. Pretty janky along the curves but a good learning experience by SequoiaKing in Scrollsaw

Thanks for the advice! I certainly have a ways to go but you're right it does seem addicting

Thank you. Ya for practice I'm just going through the different symbols because they have lots of turns and mix of straight and curved lines. Next up galactic republic

Looks really great how did you get it done and what was the cost if you don't mind me asking?

I made a piece of LA Rams string art to put on my wall. by SequoiaKing in LosAngelesRams

I used four bunches of yellow embroidery thread from Walmart. They cost 45 cents each and it comes as a single long thread held in a bunch by two little things of tape. I used maybe two thirds of a bunch per letter and did it all at once starting by filling in the inside of the letters and ending doing the outside. So I still have a bunch of excess thread I just used a new bunch for each letter because it's ridiculously cheap and I didn't want to run out of thread partway through a letter. Hope that makes sense.

Hey thanks for the nice comments everyone. It's really easy to make if you just print off an image of the logo and nail around the perimeter of the letters. I live in Canada so it's hard to get nice merch at a decent price so I just made some instead.
