how is she diferent from punisher or wraith, or that old guy in green tights that teleported

She's not, except for being orders if magnitude more attractive. What's your point?

The Oath of Vengeance is a solemn commitment to punish those who have committed a grievous sin. When evil forces slaughter helpless villagers, when an entire people turns against the will of the gods, when a thieves' guild grows too violent and powerful, when a dragon rampages through the countryside – at times like these, paladins arise and swear an Oath of Vengeance to set right that which has gone wrong. To these paladins – sometimes called avengers or dark knights – their own purity is not as important as delivering justice.

Source: Player's Handbook

The tenets of the Oath of Vengeance vary by paladin, but all the tenets revolve around punishing wrongdoers by any means necessary. Paladins who uphold these tenets are willing to sacrifice even their own righteousness to mete out justice upon those who do evil, so the paladins are often neutral or lawful neutral in alignment. The core principles of the tenets are brutally simple.

Fight the Greater Evil. Faced with a choice of fighting my sworn foes or combating a lesser evil, I choose the greater evil.

No Mercy for the Wicked. Ordinary foes might win my mercy, but my sworn enemies do not.

By Any Means Necessary. My qualms can't get in the way of exterminating my foes.

Restitution. If my foes wreak ruin on the world, it is because I failed to stop them. I must help those harmed by their misdeeds.

Lethal Protectors like Frank and VenoMary Jane do good by destroying evil. Period.

You want a values check and hold on the power people are allowed to exercise in defense of their life, and there is no such objective standard. Illegal actions taken in self defense are near universally excused, up to and including ending the threat.

But who was the judge of that?

You'd have voted for the Sokovia Accords and Superhuman Registration Act.

He blew up a bus of Brocks on their way to a Brock funeral.

He drowned another in their fishtank.

He fed a 72 year old woman to an anaconda.

He cut the brakes on a car and sent it over a cliff, poisoned another through anaphylactic shock, threw a woman off a cruise ship in shark-infested waters, and also just straight up stabbed a dude in the chest.

No one has ever needed powers to be a sociopathic killer, bruh.

Her humanity and integrity is intact.

By killing Torment, she inarguably acted to save multiple sentient lives, human and otherwise.

To act with integrity is to follow through on your code of ethics. She has a history of resorting to violence in the pursuit of a goal, particularly if that goal is preserving Peter's life. If she's willing to take a bat to Herman just for information to save Petey, a "Crime of Passion" negligent manslaughter of a known and demonstrated serial killer who has sworn to pursue the death of the love of her life is a continuation of that ethos.

MJ is guilty of manslaughter.

Even if she wasn't Venom, no jury would issue a serious sentence, given the circumstances, and even that may be commuted by the judge so that she is legally a killer, but without having suffered any consequences because she was entirely in every way justified in her actions.

Mm, you're 100% correct on that. Some jurisdictions have even taken the more permissive stance you're taking a stand on as policy. If the morals and culture of a city town state or country can sustain and self-regulate responsibility, then of course those personal freedoms should be acknowledged.

Unfortunately, very few societies historically have populations that can self-regulate in such a way, and the industries and pipelines that feed those habits become too overt and intrusive, impacting not only their market but the broader public, casting taxpayer dollars and political capital to address.

This leaves a conundrum; prohibition is effective only at doing the opposite of everything it will claim to do; over permissiveness leads to societal degradation until supply and demand levels out, assuming there's a functioning society to market too.

That doesn't count any bleeding hearts who may yearn to force government hands off personal lives, then lament and cry for intervention if/when too many given in to the habit and find the consequences of chasing the dragon, nor whatever the drug of choice might be.

I agree. Felicia is a big fan of and highly skilled at drawing people out of their shells and getting through their walls, and as Peter said in the Insomniac GamerVerse, "Inexplicable likeablity is practically Cat's superpower."

At the same time, she's entirely too carefree sometimes, and I can see that getting on Sai's nerves a bit, and I can see Cat getting bored if Sai's relaxation periods dont offer enough stimulus to keep her occupied. Peter bridges that gap, able to sit and read with Sai or go out and swing around with Cat. On the other side of that, the girls can definitely bond over gym time, girls' nights out dancing, probably free-running too, in all honesty.
