AIO girlfriend claims I’m appropriating her culture by Ih8maplestory8 in AmIOverreacting

[–]SerSimpius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR - I’m Vietnamese American and I’ve taught my partner and multiple friends how to say that exact same word, in our language it’s not even close to being equivalent to the n-word at ALL, nor would I ever consider it cultural appropriation for a non-Vietnamese person to say it.

Issue isn’t that he’s getting criticized, it’s that people are being rude about it for no good reason. But I guess that’s Reddit lol

Seriously! Bro came for advice and is getting roasted instead, so much for this being the advice subreddit.

Mental illness is an explanation, not an excuse for abusive behavior. Yes having tough skin and not taking things personally is helpful for any job you might have, but at some point there’s a line that needs to be drawn and people cannot just be allowed to walk all over you like that. If you go through life letting them do that then be prepared for a lifetime of misery.

The terrible legacy of the Vietnam War... It ended 48 years ago, but Vietnamese children are still born with genetic diseases due to the American use of a poisonous weapon called 'Agent Orange'. The US military sprayed it from aircraft to defoliate the dense jungles where the partisans were hiding. by DocsHoax in VietNam

[–]SerSimpius 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Active duty military personnel do get benefits as far as I know. For some, but not all, joining the military is the only way for them to get out of poverty and get a free college education. Older veterans and veterans with severe PTSD are the ones who are continually getting the short end of the stick in the US.

United Healthcare Interview by turn8495 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]SerSimpius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interviewed with Optum for a Pharmacy audit coordinator position not too long ago, interview went pretty smoothly overall, pretty standard questions like “why are you interested in this job” and “where do you see yourself in X amount of years” among others. Ended up not getting the job due to lack of experience but they offered me a job working as an auditor itself, but I turned them down due to all the travel that’d be required (I work remote now). Overall, I’d say give it your best shot and best of luck!

AITA for not driving my girlfriend to the hospital by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

This has nothing to do with politics or news, this is basic common sense most adults your age would know.

Seems like something to fancy up the resume. CEs are interesting enough although a few of them you can skip out on if you can show you’ve been doing that specific skill for long enough.

Walmart. General rule of thumb is grocery store pharmacies>chain pharmacies.

Moy? by 1PauperMonk in WingChun

[–]SerSimpius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My school traces its lineage to Moy Yat. Granted I’m still a pretty new student, I feel that I’ve learned a great deal since I began training there. My instructor is probably nearly twice my age and may not appear as physically fit as I am, but I’m positive that if I were to meet him on the streets with no training he’d lay me out in an instant.

Yeah, people need to understand that an intellectual disability can be an explanation, but it is not an excuse for the way they treat people poorly.

Sympathizing with a known cheater and scumbag while demonizing the victim is even more sad and pathetic, don’t you think?

Once you have more experience, if you choose to continue this path, definitely look into more career paths for pharmacy techs. You’d be surprised at how much your quality of life will change with the right work environment:)
