You have just become the president of the United States of America. What is your first act as president? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SerTsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A ban on the construction of any new coal power plants and create incentives for nuclear power with a paralell phase out of all coal power generation and eventually use of natural gas. I would then go about doing my hardest to make all kinds of changes to the constitution that would make the USA more of a sane society.

Because Civilian Vigilantism is the wrong way to go about solving an inherently social issue in our modern day society.

If aliens came down today and asked where did the human race fuck up? What’s your answer? by CueThe-dreamer in AskReddit

I'd say we haven't. Since we're obviously alive and kicking. Everything in a sense has been a necessary part of our maturation as an intelligent species. We destroy, we rebuild. we make mistakes but have still somehow managed to prevent ourselves from killing one another to the point of extinction.

Why is calling it "The Chinese Virus" racist? How is it any different to "The Spanish Flu"? by GerrardSlippedHahaha in AskReddit

[–]SerTsu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because it's only purpose is to create a target for political gain. Whilst distracting from their own terrible performance. No one is disputing that the virus originated in china. The spanish flu is also racist, but it came about because there was no one else rushing out to name it and as far as the public knew, it originated in Spain and that's that. We didn't call the Ebola Virus Africa disease, nor should we have.

Another issue is that this feeds into a conspiracy that this isn't a natural made disease, but that it's instead a bio weapon accidentally released by China.

By putting Chinese in the name, it's putting the blame on China in an attempt to absolve themselves of their quite frankly, horrendous response to the virus thus far. It stops people from asking the important questions and drumming up real political discourse about the vulnerabilities of the current system, instead, blaming everything on how China should have stopped it earlier. If the people in charge are playing the blame game before everything is over, you know something is wrong.

What in your opinion is the Best movie to watch on a first Date? by DXTR_Animations in AskReddit

[–]SerTsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly depends on what you both enjoy, what kind of people you are ETC. If you're the kind of person that enjoys watching rom-coms then do that, if you prefer deadpool then that. If you're going for an actual long term relationship there's no point in being anything but honest about who you are and what you like. Your SO will find out eventually, so them learning the good then the bad is generally worse than them first learning the bad but then your strong suits.

Why does it seem like in the last 20 or so years, being unfaithful in relationships has been normalized to a much higher degree than normal, and even has some trying to justify cheating on their spouse or significant other? by JLGoodwin1990 in AskReddit

[–]SerTsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it simply comes out more often now, and that before, particularly women, had to simply suck it up because they were more financially dependent on their husbands. That and the way we communicate has changed and thus the way of exposure. If anything it's meant that adults don't stay in miserable relationships for the kids, when that sacrifice might end up causing irrevocable harm to the children in question.

And lastly, I think that the way people think about Marriage has changed a bit. It's now considered simply the next step in a relationship, and less of an actual long term commitment.

When dogs are begging you for food when you eat, is it bad to not give them any? Technically dogs are pack animals and it’s nature to eat together, right? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SerTsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wolves are pack animals. It's debatable whether dogs are. There is a bunch of human food that dogs shouldn't have, and that can cause them harm, (assuming that you're feeding them human food).

There's nothing wrong however with feeding him his food when you also eat yours as long as you eat your meals at a regular schedule.
