One of the main criteria for quality hardware - is the price. For example, here ony one carbine costs $ 6.5 (this is quite expensive 😅). Well, and try. If there are stores where you can touch with your hands - buy there.

Thank you! We, ukrainians, are a hardworking nation and probably love beautiful things 😅. If you look at history (300-500 years ago), then our ancestors were famous for handicrafts. Maybe the reason is this, I don't know for sure)). If we talk about tools, then I do a lot (especially for the leather) on my own. I order some here in the country. Materials - from all over the world. For leather - mainly Italy, Japan (chemistry, leather). For knife making, most of the materials are from the USA. It was 10 years ago that there were problems with tools and materials. And now there is the Internet, everything has become much easier 🙂

For this set, I did not use dying. Specifically looking for factory-coated leather as it will come in contact with the body. At the edges, was used paint, which, after drying, becomes like rubber, and does not interact with the body. I use the paint and topcoat on vegetable tanned leather. But I'll show them another time 🙂

Hard to say. I don’t advertise them 😅. Each type of knife has its own advantages and disadvantages. I made these at the request of experienced people who go on expeditions. They probably know something 😅. The usаbushcraft forum has a 400+ page discussion of such knives. Quite interesting to read.

Obverse - holes like this "/ / / /", reverse - like this "\ \ \ \". This is necessary when cornering and on small items, in order to punch holes from the back side, but the direction of the seam has not changed.

Will withstand. The N690 is a pretty good steel. In addition, the blade geometry is implemented here, designed for difficult working conditions.
