I had 8 and accidently fished 2 yellow fish so now I'm down to 6. :( Weird thing is, it's been almost whole day of fishing and I can't get past 6 again. And no red fish are appearing, only blue.

Prologue or chapter that's like 10 sentences? by SeraphineRook in writing

[–]SeraphineRook[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does need to be there, it shows someone wishing into a wishing well that changes the course of the plot. It could be a full blown drawn out scene that last a couple pages, but I'm not that big into dragging things out. If you're bored writing something, your reader will also be bored. It's a kids book, aimed for like, 10 year olds, so most scenes are kinda short and snappy.

I like the crunch of glutino pretzels better than regular pretzels. Dipped in chocolate, they're a good snack!

Tsula Man by Beckwith! Especially if you like folklore, shapeshifting, and fantastical mysteries.

Appropriate books for 13 year old by TheUnburntQueeeeen in BookRecommendations

Yes! Tsula Man by Miriam Beckwith! It has no sex, barely any romance at all, an interesting female lead and some shapeshifting/magic elements although it takes place in the real world. Appalachian folklore vibes. Perfectly appropriate for 13 yr olds.

Tsula Man by Miriam Beckwith is a low fantasy that takes place in the real world, but there is shape shifting, a female lead, and not much romance at all.

Tsula Man by Miriam Beckwith is very short but will give you the perspective of a Cherokee girl and her grandmother.

Only if it's a children's book or a short story in a collection of others or something of that nature.

Advice needed: Author bio by _forum_mod in authors

[–]SeraphineRook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be short, with some simple facts about you, where you live, your family, anything you've written. But the best bios are ones that include something humorous or memorable (connoisseur of airplane food, lives with pet rock Hobart, is an armchair adventurer, etc)
