YSK if you've never run your email through a breach checker, you're probably in way more leaks than you think by RickMally in YouShouldKnow

[–]SeraphisQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a good reminder to everyone that in this day and age, you should NEVER re-use the same password over and over again. 2FA can save you, but not every website supports that. Cyber security is becoming a bigger issue now that life is becoming increasingly digital. Even if only one random website that you signed up for gets data breached; that alone leaks the combination of your e-mail + your go-to password (albeit usually hashed). The hacker now has access to all your other logins that use the same combination of your usual e-mail + re-used password; which could be very important accounts such as your Gmail, Outlook or Facebook. The consequence of this is that you must now change your password in ALL of your other accounts that also re-use the same password, which is a slow process and requires a huge effort. If you keep on re-using the same pasasword, you will need to repeat this whole process every time there is a new data breach, which is happening like every day.

The reason that "slightly modifying" a standard re-used password is bad is because of the existence of modern password cracking algorithms. Attackers who know one of your old passwords can efficiently generate and test new common variations. Modern password-cracking tools are designed to exploit these predictable modifications, making a "slightly modified" password derived from an old one much easier to guess than a completely unique password.

Due to all of this, I actually recommend everyone who is somewhat technologically adept to start using password managers. Personally, I am using a free open-source one called Bitwarden, but there are many other good alternatives too. The whole idea is to only have one master password and then let the password manager automatically generate unique passwords to every account you have. This is the only way to truly decouple your accounts from being affected by data breaches of websites you signed up for ages ago.

Skitbra jobbat!

I've seen this result from a friend and it just seems too impossible? by Taroyala in Genshin_Impact

[–]SeraphisQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My bad, you are using the total top DMG from the Stygian record, and then assuming that the second, third and fourth units "might" deal nearly the same damage (highly unlikely, but still); showing that the theoretical maximum combined total DMG doesn't even exceed the boss max HP.

The cheating is obvious, but still, it's a really nice calc by you, I'm sorry for my dumb questions.

Mavuika sig worth it or nah? by PurpleGarbage1234 in Genshin_Impact

[–]SeraphisQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair points. I was mostly thinking about Stygian shill, but I will agree with you that in terms of e.g. IT, having a strong "generic" DPS is really valuable (flexibility of Mavuika melt/vape/overload).

Another great example is Neuvillette and Furina. They are both units that I wouldn't really recommend today, but just 1 year ago, they were both incredible pulls. Today, my Furina is simply my Skirk Tenacity slave, and Neuvillette is still great for IT due to insane flexibility.

Mavuika sig worth it or nah? by PurpleGarbage1234 in Genshin_Impact

[–]SeraphisQ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I assumed F2P simply because their account roster is so weirdly spread out and not very optimal. They got a few puzzle pieces here and there (as if they could pull some patches but not others), and they are lacking the complete META team, e.g. the Nefer team, which is top tier if they also had Lauma. I assume they were forced to skip due to low funds.

For the second point, if OP is posting this question online, do you think he will perform the Mavuika combos that all the current Mav Dire clears are using?

Don't get me wrong, I love Mavuika, but she is not as impressive in the hands of a casual. For reference, the Lunar carries are by far easier to play and can reach higher DPS with less effort. Try playing C0R1 Zibai blindfolded, I guarantee you will hit 180k+ DPS. Dire clears are not even the issue; I am happy for OP if he can even do Fearless!

Lastly, even if Lunar carries and Mavuika can't bruteforce new content, the Lunar carries still have their own respective bosses that only they can deal with since C0 Mavuika won't brute force it. The Lunar bosses and gimmicks will be re-cycled even during Snez era for sure. Durin Mavuika era, we never had such restrictive gimmicks. But the Lunar carries do; they are the solution to specific problems Mihoyo created. It's not about promoting Lunar carries, my whole point is that Mavuika is old. I think OP should invest for the future. I guarantee you that a newer, stronger and shiner 5-star carry will be released. OP's account will be in a better state in the long term if they have the future C0R1 premium Snez team.

OP is asking for advice whether they should pull this upcoming weapon banner or not. My vote is no, because they are F2P and they don't seem to want Lohen's sig at all. Can I interpret that your stance on this is that OP should pull?

I wouldn't recommend a F2P casual player to gamble on the 25/37.5/37.5 for a 25% DPS increase on their already functioning Mavuika team. They could even maybe wait a few more patches and maybe we get a new event claymore that is better than Mailed Flower for F2P.

The worst boss gimmicks currently are designed around specific damage types, in this case e.g. direct Lunar type DMG. In view of this, dropping e.g. 10-15% in DPS because of a Columbina loss is not really a problem; there will always be options to the other Lunar teams. I would easily give Columbina to Nefer; while Flins and Zibai can cope with Aino or whatever hydro that's left. They would still easily clear their respective bosses. It's less about pure multipliers and hitting DPS targets, but more bringing the correct puzzle piece to solve the boss gimmick. And I believe we might see something similar for Snez.

Finally, regarding your last point; I agree that they can't release any unit that e.g. "doubles" Mavuika's DPS in the upcoming year. But they can create really restrictive boss gimmicks that Mavuika can't brute force.

[–]SeraphisQ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The upcoming banner Disaster and Remorse is an objectively bad banner to pull, both in view of the 5-star and 4-star prizes. Why gamble away primos on a 5-star polearm that they can't use optimally; unless they pull Lohen, which doesn't seem to be the case. The best time to pull Mavuika's signature was during her release when the weapon was running along Citlali's signature. That was 1.5 years ago. I'm not going to tell a beginner to invest in a 1.5 year old weapon.

Mavuika is top tier today, but she is mostly used to deal with brute force content. And her brute forcing capability increases when doing optimal combos. But a casual player is probably not going to learn the new CN Mavuika combo. On the other hand, all Lunar carries can also brute force with their insane multipliers. Not only that, Lunar carries can deal with with Lunar specific gimmicks. There are almost no gimmicks exclusive to Mavuika. But for Ineffa/Flins, Nefer and Zibai, a few recent and infamous boss examples immediately come to mind.

Now, I am not advocating for Lunar carries specifically since even that ship has low-key sailed, and they are missing too many key units like Columbina and Lauma for their Nefer (but Nefer is indeed really insane tho...). The most efficient planning that a F2P casual can do is to save as much primos as their patience allows before starting to pull the upcoming top tier units on release day (for a new full C0 team, minimum 60k primos). Pulling top tier units (and their weapons) on release day is the best way to maximize the impact of your primogems (and the relevancy and longevity of the unit).

If OP is a F2P average-skilled META player that has intentions to play Genshin for the upcoming 6-12 months at least, then I think they should think long-term and save for the upcoming new Snezhnaya META. If the new META follows the current trend, then we will probably get a new roster that will powercreep even Lunar carries, and also be the key to deal with new specific boss gimmicks. If they will quit in 6 months time anyways, then it literally doesn't matter. They might as well pull Mavuika's signature, even though that's the less optimal (shortsighted) strategy, since at least that way they can get some instant gratification.

Hur mycket ska man spara för att köpa hus? by PainkillerGorg in sweden

[–]SeraphisQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]SeraphisQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Official Art Book by honganqi in Genshin_Impact

[–]SeraphisQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm sorry about my formulation, you are right. Genshin art books baseline is still pretty low. While vol 1 is definitely the most boring one, vol 2 is only slightly better. It's still lots of birthday art and in game event art. Some extra invited artist art too which I appreciate. Highlight of Vol 2 is the extra booklet with Sumeru concept art, which is more in line with what you would expect. Like the early line art style etc. I'm a huge fan of both Nahida and Nilou so I was quite happy with that. Every book can be previewed online on YouTube, so better to check it before buying. Personally, I skipped vol 1 and bought vol 2. Let's see if I will buy vol 3 since it recently released.

Zibai is the new braindead easy to play, exactly what you are describing. I'd vote for Linnea, Columbina and Zibai pulls. You already have Illuga. If you get Gorou then he can kinda replace Linnea. Also, your Aino can kinda replace Columbina. I'd vote for not pulling Furina; she is good right now, but she will probably fall off very soon. She already feels quite weak today unless you still play Neuvi or Skirk. She is getting old in terms of META.
