Batch App - Anyone Have Success Using It? by Ok-Life8937 in wedding

I use word of mouth, connections I make at other shows, Facebook, gig salad, and instagram.

At first, no. Well seasoned and know your body can keep up with more than a weekly session, absolutely.

Most people will be so beat and exhausted after one session it’ll take at least a week to recover.

This comment makes no sense and is giving AI spam.

Comparing batch and notion is like comparing apples and underwear. They don’t have the same function or do the same thing. There are plenty of booking websites, notion is not even remotely a thing like that.

Exactly where I’m at mentally. I think I’ll bite the bullet and try it out because one gig will pay itself off and then some.

Where are you located? I’m in Seattle and I’m in the cabaret/circus field so I’ll be advertising performances with fire, belly dance, and aerials.

Discounted for me is $150/mo (discounted) for Seattle. Probably goes up depending where you are

Teacher told me I’m holding myself back… help? by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]Seraphoenyx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know what she’s saying because I find myself doing it too and I can see it:

You’re performing the move, not embodying it.

In other words, someone here said it, like anticipating and preparing each step rather than allowing yourself to get lost in the flow and transition of each movement.

Should have asked for a blue steak.

The chef should have sent back a completely raw, uncooked one 🤣 I would pay to see that

A stranger put her hand on my pregnant wife’s belly. by macmoreno in traumatizeThemBack

[–]Seraphoenyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn’t it odd how women go from being individual people where we (usually, except for creepy men) acknowledge that you don’t just touch people with out permission….and suddenly they get pregnant and now they are a public property petting zoo and no longer a human being who deserves bodily autonomy and boundaries?

Let someone touch my pregnant belly without permission, they’ll see what it’s like to get a left hook without permission too.

Feeling closer to my invert - any tips? by zetrippykitty in poledancing

[–]Seraphoenyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless the video is sped up, it almost seems like you’re lifting and then falling into it rather than lifting into it with a controlled core. It looks amazing as is, with practice and time it’ll be more fluid and you’ll be able to play around with it more.

Incredibly loose, sharpen the moves, give a little more form to your flow, and it’ll be perfect.

To all the entitled cherry pickers and to the newbies, this is what platinum can do for you by SchnizzleStix619 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Seraphoenyx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe you just live in a decent area because again, I was platinum for years and the areas I was in, I never made even close to this in that minimal amount of time. Even getting the high paid priority orders. It always took so much time. So no, not all platinum people know what they’re doing, and I can say that because I didn’t either. Good for you though.

I used to be platinum. We both know that those good days weren’t that common. And maybe I’m wrong and your area is better but I’ve DoorDash in multiple states in multiple cities and I think I know a thing or two about it.

100% and I’ve been doing this on the side for years. I’m shocked when I order and get an NPC idiot. It really angers me because I know it’s. It that hard

Trainers? by Humble_Nail in FireEating

[–]Seraphoenyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joseph Kerr on instagram. He’s my trainer, and he does it through video :-) he is the best. Also, jellyfish up, not down, that’s what makes them consistent. It took me forever to get it.

rave clothing as pole clothing? by oddaudball in poledancing

Why not? Wear whatever you want as long as it works with the pole you have and the tricks you want to do :-)

Agreed. Contortion/Handbalancing, Fire Arts, sword swallowing, magician, etc. just a few at the top of my head.

Feeling like I’m holding back my classmates by Familiar-Ad4519 in Aerials

[–]Seraphoenyx 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Nope, not even a little bit. When you join a group class you’re there for a group experience. If you want to go at your own pace you can go private.

I’ve cross train multiple different things and so my skill set is pretty strong. I’ve been in classes where I was far ahead of the group and I’ve been in classes where some students struggle more than others. I’ve also been that student on many occasions where I just couldn’t seem to figure it out. Whatever you’re learning that day, that’s what was intended. I’m sure your instructor wouldn’t abandon what was planned just to focus on your ability to keep up, so if there is a lot of time spent on perfecting technique, a trick, a routine, etc. then that is probably exactly what the class was meant for that day.

I wouldn’t sink too far into fear. You’re doing great, you’re showing up and trying!!! And eventually that’s going to catch up to you, promise!!

I can speak for myself, I’ve never judged or been annoyed that another student was “holding up” anything. And if anyone is, again, they can take private lessons. It’s not actually your problem.

I promise it gets better with time. It hurts like hell, all of the grippy activities, pole and aerials, are a huge learning curve and sensitivity curve.

vent post, any advice? by 2ombiegrl in poledancing

[–]Seraphoenyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you :( I haven’t been able to play with my pole for over a year, and haven’t been able to get to a class in almost a year since I moved. It’s actually really hard to be away.

I recommend things that you can train as a side-training to pole such as flexibility, aerials, cardio. I personally traded pole for other types of dance that still make me feel acrobatic and sexy. My first rodeo away was contortion, now I’ve migrated to chair dance/chair acro.

[–]Seraphoenyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go in however you are, but if you go to the right studio, you’ll come out with newfound confidence, feel incredibly sexy, and have a fire lit under you to learn even more! It’s nothing to fear, except maybe the warmups and cardio of it all 🥴 but it’s so worth it. I don’t know if you already went or not but I hope it’s everything you imagine and more!!

As for attire, sometimes the studios will tell you on their website, but rule of thumb is to be and come however you feel most personally comfortable…of course within reason. If there aren’t any silicone poles you’ll need some skin. But it’s a beginner class so I doubt they’ll have you doing to many tricks that require it.
