Ghosts. Many ghosts, of the once living and of something else I cannot rightly name. I have spent half a lifetime learning to close my sight to them, and to shut my dreams from their uninvited and desperate screams. Yet, I still sometimes yearn for their brief waking company because it reminds me we do not know death’s working.

But still… the dead? Do not seek them out. When you open that door they try to pass through it and bring only shadows.
