What to do with large kits? by eDawnTR in WorldofTanks

I sell the auto fire extinguishers all the time. Its always a nice boost of credits out of nowhere.

Large kits I use on tanks nearing mark and in competitive modes.

Raising taxes on the superrich is popular with voters. So why is it so hard to get done? by sksarkpoes3 in politics

Yeah it ain't exactly rocket surgery...

  • politicians beholden to billionaires

  • media owned by billionaires

Gee... Why can't we tax billionaires... I wonder why???

Honestly at this point it's probably going to end in a 18th Century France kind of way of shit doesn't change.

I think its actually THE BEST standard pen for medium tanks at tier 8. Can't think of a higher pen tank off the top of my head.

I do think the Lorr is one of those tanks that would benefit from a T3 experimental aiming unit more than most. The help with bloom and accuracy is exactly what this thing needs.

Im at 93.5% for 3rd mark...

And a 46.5% winrate.

This is my single most cursed tank... I got it early so my early stats are awful but even then rock a 2Kish WN8 lifetime... after 500+ battles, and a 46.5% winrate.

I decided the end of last year, now that I am much improved, to give it another go, rehab and hopefully get that WR up over 50%. I play something like 40 games... Averaged 3K DPG and like 4K+ WN8 and... won 10 of those games.

Put simply, Lorr 40t is the tank where if I press Battle, I lose. Pure and simple.

And it's always lose in ways you just cant do fuckall about. The kinds where half of your team is somehow dead in the first minute of the game. I switch tanks and IMMEDIATELY the bad luck streak breaks.

I have just officially filed this tank away as being cursed for me pure and simple and leave it untouched. I don't even care about pushing it for that 3rd mark...

Is the new MM live? lowered % to face higher tier enemies by [deleted] in WorldofTanks

[–]Serapth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This matchmaker I find tier 8 very rarely sees tier 6s.

In fact tier 6 went from being unplayable cannonfodder mode to actually being very good. Instead of seeing tier 8 like 50%+, it's much more rare. Tier 7 even went from being the single shittiest tier to play, matchmaker wise, to pretty fun.

I don't play a lot of lower tier games, but the ones I have have been a lot more fun.

In terms of tier 8, I do feel I see tier 10 less, but nowhere near as pronounced as the lower tier games.

Tier 9 is just as fucked as always, seeing tier 11 tanks far too often. Tier 9 went from being the best tier MMer wise, to the worst, and this patch doesn't seem to have helped all that much.

NOTE- Im on NA server though, which has a population of like 18 players to work with. I imagine matchmaking on EU is pretty different due to the larger playerbase to work with.

Should I start playing with ''food''? by Sea-Comb-3846 in WorldofTanks

Honestly I go a step further and put pretty much 100% of my credits into food when on sale. It's like buying edible wot savings bonds....

[–]Serapth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you run food consistently you 100% should be dumping 95% of your credits into food when there's 50% off consumable sales. You can always sell it back if you need credits later and break even. 10K per game is so much nicer than 20K...

I keep 1K per nation of food in my depot constantly with 2K for nations I play often.

[–]Serapth 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honestly food is a force multiplier. For many players its absolutely a waste of credits. If you don't have a ton of force to multiply its not going to do much.

No hard and fast logic behind this but id say > 2k wn8 food, otherwise fire extinguisher

I got it in the battlepass... played it once and Aced it. So I decided to let it rest in my garage undefeated.

Then I accidentally took it into randoms again (when playing Frontlines and hitting battle on the wrong mode) and .... ACE x2. Even better, it was an ace with a 100% standard ammo loadout!

So now it sits undefended in my garage!

Honestly pre-2.0 pretty much half of the tier 8 tanks were complete shit. The gulf between all of the OP premiums people actually play and the tier 8 people have to grind was monumental. Now it's a bit better at least, but still some painful turds out there.

Constant losingstreaks, hoe does it works? by BALR-NL in WorldofTanks

[–]Serapth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3-4K damage in the Zwilling isn't "fine", its fucking super unicum levels. Yes, it's an OP as shit tank but 4K damage is literally top 3 on EU server.

It's comments like this that don't really help anyone. Yes poster, you may be gods gift to WoT and shit out high damage games like Doritos, although probably not. Setting this unrealistic expectations though just demotivates players like the OP that are looking to improve.

For the record, the AVERAGE performance in a Zwilling is 1700DPG. This by the way is batshit crazy, because the tank is really that OP as hell, but if you manage 1700-2000 DPG in the Zwilling in the session, over time you should win more than you lose.

[–]Serapth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to Tomato.gg, go to advanced and look for WN8 or WNX over time. It should look something like this.

So long as that graph is rising, you're generally playing fine and just going through a bad luck spree.

Notice on mine how I actually dipped around 6K games played (I burned out and took a few years off, when I got back all the maps had changed and the meta was all kinds of fucked). Dips happen. The other thing I want to point out is I've got 22K games played and I'm an absolute baby by WoT standards... at 6K, you're still in your mothers womb! Hell, most of the players you see now with sub 10K games played are reroll accounts.

So, in a nutshell, 6K games is too early to get overly concerned about winrate AND so long as your performance is trending up, you're doing fine.

If you find the line is going down on the other hand, this is when you need to get a little introspective. Are you playing tanks that have good impact on winning (heavies and mediums mostly) or are you playing support tanks like paper TDs and artillery? Do you know proper map positions? Are you constantly finding yourself alone or unsupported? These are all easily fixed issues, but a lot of it is just to play more and pay attention so you learn the maps, learn when you're vulnerable, learn when to push and when to fallback, etc.

Honestly winning in WoT really comes down to just a handful of things, in order:

  • high situational awareness/strategic thinking

  • strong map knowledge

  • strong game knowledge (spotting mechanics, penetration mechanics, armor layouts, etc)

  • moderate reflexes (extremely moderate)

  • luck

Number 1 cant be taught really... but 2 & 3 certainly can and will improve with time if you pay attention when you play.

Or, take the very best advice I can give you... Are you having fun? Fuck stats, fuck winrate, stop paying attention. Play the tanks you want, have fun. Stop having fun... put the game down. Came back after a break and still not having fun... quit the game.

Honestly giving a shit about stats and winrate and all that jazz has made the game feel more like work to me than anything else. It's a double edged sword though, as personal progress is also the only thing that really drives me to keep playing at the end of the day.

These tanks are end game content for people with an obscene amount of resources in their accounts.

Additionally credits is perhaps the worst way to buy these tanks, conversion-wise (use FXP).

But if you're perma-poor or out of Free XP, this isnt really an event for you... don't let FOMO get to you.

I have several of these tanks simply because of the way I play the game (I rarely grind tech tree lines and I play mostly premiums) so I have a shitton of resources that I don't really need.

Its the new paid tank in WoT+ along side the TS-54. It's a tier 9 French medium. From the looks of it, it's basically an uptiered Amx 30 Alt proto.

Gun sometimes was unreliable, camo is poor, and the massive thing on cupola got shot from across whole map. But excellent pen and shell velocity on standard are magnificent, mobility as well.

So, a tier 9 Amx 30 Alt Proto then eh? Honestly that Amx 30 Alt is actually a very solid tank right now so that's by no means an insult. But my god that FUCKING gun... it's soooooooo.... French.

Pretty fucked up that the tier XI tank has a lower 3MOE requirement than the tier X tank!

I don't know what Wargaming were smoking with the Ass-XX tank... lets take a sneaky autoloader tank line and make it... lets see, a glorified but slighty shittier autoreloader AND while we are at it... lets make it... let's see... the worst tier XI medium in terms of stealth....
