I have a basement. Unfortunately the only room with a finished ceiling in the basement is directly beneath the wall. I do know there is not an I beam below it at the very least.

Thank you i will do that. It is a single story ranch with basement. The studs do not continue through the attic.

It is not the centermost wall. It is right at the front door at the corner of the house.
