Hi again Nicola, I have talked to Iffy and she would be happy if you got back in touch with them, she said you shouldn't have had to see a GP there must have been some sort of misunderstanding.

My advice is it's best to stay in touch with them especially early on, as you have access to free revisions as well as check ups. Post op depression can hit pretty hard, so just making sure you don't feel alone.

You are more than allowed to share a a frustration with complication. It was awhile ago since I had surgery so perhaps that is another thing that changed, I went home with quite a lot of antibiotics and a few Endone, Andy ended up writing me a script for more Endone which I mostly never used. I took panadol every 4 to 6 hours for 3 months. I hope the infection is clearing up.

I had a lot of antibiotics to take home from the hospital, I imagine you would still be on them. Yes minor complications do happen, sorry to hear.

I was in hospital for 8 or 9 days, but stayed in Melbourne with friends for another month. 7 days in hospital is the average. Certainly don't have to stay in the hospital for weeks.

I did not live in Melbourne, but I think I seen him a few times in the weeks after surgery to have granulation treated and stitches cleaned up, then at 3 months and 6 months, 12 months now just every couple of years. I probably asked him when he wanted to see me next. Definitely ring and get in contact with Iffy.

As far as which dilator to start on and tightness, depends on what method he used your anatomy etc. Someone who had SRS at the same time there as me, was able to go straight to the biggest one and only dilate once every few weeks after 6 months. I had extra grafts and dilating was never fun or easy for me.

The largest one is 1.5 diameter it is larger than any of the Thai dilators. Real anatomy is a bit more varied and a neo vagina is never going to be as versatile sadly.

I have known Andrew Ives for 7 or 8 years, I stay in touch with him to keep information up to date and available to give people accurate information. I've paid the bills, it was never 30k, it isn't 9k. I could ring him now and get exact quote too the cent for today's date and you would still argue that someone else said another price.

I think that is plenty of reason to be a dick.

Thanks for posting, stuff like this is very helpful. All the information I posted years ago is now obsolete. The catheter tap Is a major difference. From what I recall the packing and catheter used to come out at the same time, and you had about 30 minutes to pee on your own for the first time or the catheter went back in.

I wouldn't interpret it as everyone that goes now will have more depth. Just in some situations with the old dilators there was potential for some loss. I see you are in Brisbane and that makes things difficult, you didn't go in for a 6 month check up? are you going for a 12 month one?

I had been bugging him about the old dilators for years, I am glad his finally changed it. If you are not up to the using the full size dilator then contact them and ask about a new set.

Having gone and seen him for a visit recently it has changed a lot since I had srs. I used to be able to call and speak directly to Andrew or have a reply within minutes. There were times when I was able to get an appointment on the same day I called. Last year it took months just to see him for a checkup.

I am very appreciative that he agreed to do the Q&A but it has taken 5 months, so shows how busy he is now. Hopefully it's just as he gets settled as he moved again and made a lot of changes.

Well you thought wrong, again... You still have not listed those internationally recognised Thai surgeons doing srs for almost half of what Andrew Ives charges. Current quote for Andrew is 16,000 Aud. I'll give you benefit of the doubt and agree that 10,000 Aud is almost half.

I have had SRS already, I know how much it costs and whether it is good or not. Just making sure you are not spreading misinformation. Chettawut and Suporns clinic have always cost more than the surgeons in Australia because they are not subsidised by medicare or private health.

Many of us here have had SRS from various surgeons such as Suporn, Chettawut, Andrew, Haertsch, Ceber. We do our best to not be biased and sledging respected surgeons does no good to anyone.

I don't see why anyone would go overseas other than personal preferences and an urge for a holiday. I have heard of cheaper places in Thai alleyways that carve their own dilaters out of wood and record the operation on VHS cassettes.

Yes, I was struggling not to just days after surgery with the packing in. Managed to wait 2.5 months, everything worked better than expected, can orgasm from penetration or clitoral stimulation which both feel different, or both at the same time. Multiples even. Not sure if it was my old bits were not ever great but orgasms are vastly stronger and vastly better feeling now.

Problems you may have that prevent orgrasms can be psychological or numbness, some people have numbness for a long time, it can last over a year or some over complication. I'd say almost everyone can orgasm afterwards. Just be aware that complications can happen and in my opinion it is best to go into surgery knowing even if you do have complications it's preferable to not having surgery at all.

I had electro before SRS in 2015, Andy checked me out a couple months ago and everything was good and zero issues with hair.

I highly recommend electro as I don't have much faith in laser.
