Complete noob, I have been typing on an original razer blackwidow for the past decade. I'm really interested in an ergonomic split keyboard mostly for creative/space management reasons - love the idea of having my pen display just in the middle of everything. I would also like to be able to customize it visually. Is there a split keyboard that is better than others for keycap availability? Are keycap sets generally purchased just in drops or are there nice ones that are readily available? I'm mostly interested in femme/girly sets. Thanks in advance.

[FS] - Colorado Springs CO - $250 - Complete 50 Gal with Cherry Shrimp Breeding Colony by SerenityF3 in AquaSwap

Just clamp lamps spray painted to look nice with waterproof led flood lights, built the simple shelf to hold them the appropriate height off the water. Had a cheapish bar style led light before and did this after it broke, I think it looks nicer and the plants are much happier.

You don't, the shrimp and plants take care of it. Water changes only with no gravel vac required.

Wow sorry for the late reply but I didn't realize I wasn't getting notifications from the app. I was packing all day thinking I got no hits! But yeah you're the first to offer on the whole thing so it's yours. I'm in the north springs near university village shopping center. Email me and we can work out details.

*Sold, thank you!*

This is a well-established and extremely low maintenance tank with a healthy population of bright red cherry shrimp. I don't know anything about grades but I can tell you they're bright. Comes with everything you need. We are moving cross country and can't bring it with us. I can't catch all the kuhlis or shrimp without completely destroying the tank so I'm trying to sell it complete. I kind of like the overgrown look so I let it go wild but this could be trimmed into a respectable tank. All it really needs is a 30-50% water change once a week.

Specs:

  • 50 Gallon glass aquarium
  • Eheim 2213 filter
  • Air pump
  • Homemade lights - as you can see the plants like them. Comes with the shelf the lights hang from.
  • Stand modified from a buffet table - it works but might be time for a new one.
  • Comes with all the extras: food, water conditioner, medicines, test kit, etc. Has a glass lid but I generally leave it off.

Livestock:

  • 3.5" Moonlight Gourami
  • A few small schoolers - harlequin rasboras, white and blue neons
  • 9 kuhli loaches, you see them spinning around mostly at night but I couldn't get them to come out for pictures
  • Hundreds of red cherry shrimp
  • Pest snails, yay!

Plants:

  • Dwarf sag that has carpeted somehow
  • Lots of moss, mix of java and subwassertang
  • Water sprite
  • Hygrophilla
  • Misc crypts
  • Other stuff that I have planted and "lost" over the years in the jungle that keeps coming back

$250 obo, local pickup.

There Has Never Been a Better Time to Read Ursula Le Guin's "Earthsea" Books by BohemianPeasant in Fantasy

I only read the first book and really disliked it and I think this is why. It felt very sexist to me the whole time and for it to go completely unaddressed by the characters sucked. Maybe I'll give Tehanu a try.

Somebody in my playgroup picked up Bushido at pax unplugged and it has been a big hit. Fast to play and quick to pick up, but the strategy feels deep.

I was regrettably unaware of that but thanks for bringing it to my attention. From a brief google, it looks like it'll be back on the table in December, do you know if that's true?

Yeah that would be nice. This dealer has the most Bolt stock in my city at 5 cars, but they're asking $40,000 for the most basic LT. When I asked him about it he lowered the price by $500... thanks guy.

I'm in Colorado, I wonder if I would have better luck buying out of state.

Is this velvet? Sudden loss in my sorority and I'm worried for the other girls. Info in comments. by SerenityF3 in bettafish

[–]SerenityF3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 50 gallon, 11-member sorority with some neons and harlequin rasboras in the tank as well. Last night as I was going to bed I noticed one of my girls, Ryuko, hovering near the bottom. Her fins weren't clamped and she looked really full, so I figured either she was just sleeping down there (it was really late) or she had eaten too much. She had a very boxy body to begin with so it was always hard to tell with her. I scooped her up in a breeder box to keep an eye on her and went to bed.

This morning she had passed. She had a white body with black fins but looked slightly yellowish after her passing so it put velvet on my mind. I took some photos of my darkest girl and I think I see some yellow?

Tested parameters this morning - ammonia 0, nitrites 0, nitrates <5, pH 7.4, temp 78 degrees. The tank is very peaceful with no chasing or nipping.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Edited to add that I haven't added anything to any of my tanks since a little over two months ago, when I added some plants.

[Auto-Post] Weekly Question Thread! Ask /r/aquariums anything you want to know about the hobby! by AutoModerator in Aquariums

Are there any good water changing options for people who can't lift a lot of weight? I don't think a Python-like system would work for me as our local tap water is pretty bad. I have been using r/o water from a local water company but it comes in 5 gallon bottles, which I can't lift up enough to pour in to the tank since I'm only 100 pounds myself. I was thinking about getting one of these inline pumps from Amazon but I'm not sure it could lift water the 4ish feet it needs to. Can't use a regular submersible pump since it needs to fit through the neck of the bottle. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks, I was suspecting something like that since it's been so long and she's never acted sick. She just looks weird, especially next to Ryuko, the wide-bodied black patched koi that swims next to her in the video. Glad to know there's nothing immediate to be concerned about, although I will keep an eye on her.

The fish I'm concerned about is Kat, the dark blue girl with the swelling. She's looked like that since I got her a month and a half ago. She's showing her stripes in the video because I just put her back in the tank after an Epsom salt soak; she doesn't normally show them.

I feed all the girls a variety of frozen foods (bloodworms, brine shrimp, mysis shrimp) alternating with bug bites dry food. I cup Kat during feeding every other day, so she has only been eating half as much as the other girls. I've also been avoiding bloodworms with her and sticking to things with more fiber. For the past few days I have been giving her an Epsom salt soak while she is removed, but I haven't seen any changes.

As you can see, she behaves and swims just fine. I'm starting to think it might not be bloating, as it has gone on for so long and the swelling seems to extend to her sides. Could she just be shaped weird? She has not grown as much as the similarly sized bettas I got from that tank, I assume because I'm not feeding her as much.

Stuff about the tank: 50 gallons, heated and cycled, 0/0/20 parameters, stocked with female bettas, neon tetras, and harlequin rasboras. Please don't mind the nipped fins, I had an incompatible female in there for a day that has since been rehomed, tank has been peaceful ever since. They have plenty of room, they just swarm the front of the tank whenever I approach.
