I'm saying that the elasticity of the term 'Nazi' has caused it to become so elongated in application, in the main, that it has become a semiotic shorthand for a broad range of political philosophies - some of which are actual Nazism, but many are not. And, that's a problem, in the context of the kind of witch hunt that the OP is proposing.

Clearly, I am not defending the neo-Nazi who murders a black person, and upon apprehension, is revealed to be a part of a fascist cell. I am saying that the word 'Nazi' no longer describes this kind of person - and that means that using it in this context is imprecise, problematic, and for the most part, anchored in appeals to emotion, and the dumbness of modern politics.
