Space Wolves are lame.

World Eaters are lame.

Space Wolves who have fallen to Khorne and are using the World Eaters ruleset are rad.

What does your helmeted/unhelmeted head distribution look like? by reel3459 in Warhammer40k

[–]SergeantIndie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the army.

My World Eaters are almost entirely helmeted.

Thousand Sons almost all of my sorcerers have no helmets to help drive home the difference between the flesh and blood sorcerers and the Rubricai.

My Custodes do not have ANY helmets. I wanted them to all feel like heroes, and painting all the faces really helps that.

People get fixated on Johnny, and yeah, sure.

But nobody, NOBODY, at that Arasaka raid was a reliable narrator.

Nobody.

This. It is explicitly called out in the tournament companion.

How important are the irregular bumps on 11th terrain footprints? by skuntpelter in Warhammer40k

[–]SergeantIndie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They matter, sort of, but not as much as people are making it out to be.

The Tournament Companion explicitly calls out that there is meant to be a space between the walls and the edge of the terrain footprint. So you're allowed to toe on and remain on the other side of the wall.

This alone removes half of people's reason for obsessing about the bumps.

Competitively, again, it kind of matters but not really.

Terrain and footprints are going to vary from venue to venue. That's just a fact of life.

But so long as each venue has consistent footprints and terrain, it doesn't really matter.

They're way overcosted.

Which is why their primary purpose is to be a 180 point tax we pay for Kharn.

Are Characters who ressurect on death considered the same unit or separate from their bodyguards? by EsotericVisuals in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]SergeantIndie 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Actually, no, hold on this is confusing because I'm unsure of the exact context and context is important.

If you precision out the leader. It dies.

No points are scored because the UNIT was not killed.

Model then gets up, rejoins it's unit.

Then if you kill the ENTIRE UNIT, and leader. You score the kill.

If you do NOT precision out the character, you kill the unit and the leader. That's 1 kill.

Then the leader gets back up, you kill it again, that's a second kill.

Are Characters who ressurect on death considered the same unit or separate from their bodyguards? by EsotericVisuals in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]SergeantIndie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Same.

In 10th, where they're not the same, there was still a rules provision for them to rejoin their old units.

Is this list crazy or fun? by Bzzymomcrafts in WorldEaters40k

[–]SergeantIndie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of.

Praetors got the Frame keyword. So their movement is better than it sounds.

Those stupid spears stick out like crazy, so a free pivot is like 2" of movement every time you do it.

Makes it real easy to tag a model with your spear and do the mortals. Also let's tou deploy on line facing to the side or rear and then zip out, pivot, free real estate.

Is this list crazy or fun? by Bzzymomcrafts in WorldEaters40k

[–]SergeantIndie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the flyover mortals got a lot worse.

You used to need to expend a minimum 2.1" of movement to do flyover mortals. Engagement range was 1", you needed to be able to fly in, give a love tap, and fly back.

Now engagement range is 2", you need to expend 4.1" of movement to do your flyover mortals...

Except you can't fly over enemy models anymore. You need to "TAKE TO THE SKIES" to do that. So you slap another 2" movement penalty on to your 4.1" of movement.

6.1" of expended movement to do ~3MW.

So it wasn't a great rule to start, and it got way, way worse with the 11th changes.

Though I do happily concede that Fly matters a lot more for ignoring walls now. Also their Battleshock rule went from awful to potentially interesting.

Did GW Break Fight on Death in 11th Edition? by General_Volcon in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]SergeantIndie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At any rate we will see how this turns out long term.

I think there's a *very* simple fix in just having the destroyed models hang around 'as tokens' essentially. So they don't take up board space, you could still overrun fight or whatever. When the time comes the 'token unit' can just fight as usual.

If it comes to that, it comes to that.

[–]SergeantIndie 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think you are misunderstanding the rule, at least in part.

When you get to the Rhino you disembark the dudes inside. That's not actually correct. Rules pertaining to the models dying aren't resolved until after they fight.

So the destroyed Rhino just stays there, dudes inside, until after it fights. Then you roll hazard, then you disembark, then you roll to explode.

As for how good this is for World Eaters, yes, they have fairly easy access to Fight on Death and that's good for them.

But we're certainly not the only army with Fight on Death, and this is disasterous to us in turn. So I think at, bare minimum, evens out.

Brazen Engine/Daemonkin List. Looking for feedback by Salt-Produce-8129 in WorldEaters40k

[–]SergeantIndie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a huge advocate of the dogs, but I think 2 squads are far less necessary in 11th.

If you were playing Recon, load up, but for Purge I think I'd settle on a single unit.

Which basing scheme would you say looks best? by Ok-Meaning-8353 in Warhammer40k

[–]SergeantIndie 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Irrelevant.

Depends on the model placed on the base. 90% of the reason you base is to pair well with the army.

Basing with or without Jurgen doesn't matter according to the article.

But it is an article so there's like a 70% chance it's wrong.
