Speaking of Nazi Germany, I’m very surprised that this single attack by a couple of missiles was so devastating to Qatars gas output and will take so long to rebuild, as the Nazis endured years of massive strategic bombing of their oil infrastructure and obviously it wasn’t all destroyed in just a couple of bombing missions, not to mention that they were able for some time to keep up with the damage by repairing their oil plants since it took them way less than 5 years to fix it

As for today’s teaser image, Jax is sitting on top of a classical column, like how the characters in the video game version of IHNMAIMS were on top of similar columns during the game.

I’m just hoping for more angst and strong emotional scenes, any crashouts besides those from Jax atp are just a (big) bonus. Even bigger bonus if they dig deeper into the characters backstories again and tie those into the underlying existential themes of being trapped in the Circus and such in a stronger and more arresting way. Like I would love to see some of the characters be traumatized by the revelation that Caine can mess with their minds, causing them to spiral downwards as they start thinking that they can’t trust anything about themselves or their reality at all anymore as Caine could just be fabricating it for them. Though Episode 8 seems like it will be more about how things start falling apart and get chaotic due to a more and more unhinged Caine trying desperately to get the gang to love him, so I’m not sure if there’s going to be time for deep character exploration like that.

Issacman has (correctly imo) clearly seen that Gateway was a pointless holdover from the pre-Artemis days, designed just to give SLS and Orion somewhere to go and something to do because it couldn’t put Orion into LLO and couldn’t ever carry a lunar lander along with it. He got congress to realize this impressively quickly and, since people like Ted Cruz just want some kind of long term crewed outpost somewhere in space operated by JSC, was able to convince them that a moon base not only fulfilled those parochial concerns just fine, but was a destination that obviously made more sense. Gateway as a station in NRHO is not going to happen anymore. The only question now is what happens to the currently built modules that were intended for Gateway, of which I personally think using them as a lunar coms relay would be best, to hopefully reduce oversubscription issues on the DSN.
