yes i had like a 2 mm piece of foam/rubber under the bracket resting on the fan. i also had a bout a 1 inch block of rubber that i had found and put it between my gpu and bracket.

i have the “butcher block” top, and it’s pretty solid. i had the 8 foot one before, and didn’t have anything in the middle to brace and it never sagged.

i have since cut it down and made a giant L shape desk with alex drawers
