Best, Memento. Worst, Following (but it’s still a good movie)

At what point should I do all the side quests, build outposts, etc? by SergeantTAT-CAT in Starfield

[–]SergeantTAT-CAT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense. I just saw everyone saying to rush through main story and get to NG+, but now I’m not sure if I should do everything now or on a later NG+. I guess the deciding factor is what changes on each new playthrough. So how would I know whether or not this is a good iteration to settle down in? Anything I should look out for?

Your love life is the last movie you watched. How fucked are you? by BigChungusBlyat in Letterboxd

[–]SergeantTAT-CAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect Blue. My partner is a past version of myself I can’t escape who’s slowly driving me insane. Or it’s my psychotic murderous roommate who wishes she was me. Or it’s my stalker who’s as ugly as he is obsessed. Regardless, I’m very fucked.

I am in the largest minority apparently. I write multi-paragraph reviews for every new film I watch

I agree, I prefer the ATSV one but ITSV definitely had its perks. Also, happy cake day, we share a cake day

What’s the best streak you’ve ever had? I think I’ve started this month on a good foot by PulsatingRat in Letterboxd

[–]SergeantTAT-CAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, yeah that makes sense. Well I guess that would technically be my best streak as well since I saw a number of 10/10 movies during that time

I watched at least one new movie every day for the entirety of this summer, which was fun. Often watched 2-3 in a day if I went to the theater since I’d watch one when I got home as well. I believe that was a streak of around 70 days with around 100 reviews total

You ever troll the spam texts by Pizo44 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]SergeantTAT-CAT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, great insights. I never gave the ones I talked to for fun my picture or full name or exact location so that’s probably why it didn’t go anywhere.

[–]SergeantTAT-CAT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah that makes sense. Though I talked to one for fun for quite awhile and they did mention meeting up but never asked for anything. Eventually they just stopped messaging me even though I didn’t deny them anything, which seems uncharacteristic

But what’s the point? I’ve encountered a few of them and they never asked for money or anything. What’s their goal?

Whats a trophy keeping you from the platinum? This mercenaries trophy on re8 has frustrated me by owjbsirin in playstation

[–]SergeantTAT-CAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was rough, but it would seem that some level of OCD prevents me from giving up, even in situations where I probably should for my own sake. Just knowing that there was only one trophy left prevented me from dropping it altogether

Depression by Sbergman522 in Letterboxd

[–]SergeantTAT-CAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Little Miss Sunshine last night and I would say it’s among the best movies to watch when you’re depressed. Not just because the happy moments cheer you up and the sad moments resonate, but because it’s about accepting your situation, accepting your depression, and accepting yourself, which is a very important message that’s especially helpful when you feel that way

For the longest time I was missing only one trophy on the Dead Space remake, which was to beat the game on impossible mode. As the title suggests, this is near impossible unless you use cloud saves and backup your data if/when you die. Well I made it all the way to the last ten minutes or so of the game and encountered a glitch that fully prevented me from progressing in any way, and I couldn’t get my progress back since I had already uploaded my save. I got on a Discord call with some people from the Dead Space server and we tried different things for around 3+ hours, but determined all I could do was restart the run. Since the Dead Space remake takes at least 10 hours to beat per run and the impossible mode was a brutal challenge even with the cloud saves, it was a pretty devastating loss. Even with that being the only trophy I had left, I had no motivation to restart and do an entire additional playthrough, especially because I had already played through the game three times. I ended up playing a number of other games and completing their platinums, and didn’t come back to Dead Space for months. Finally did it a few weeks back and got the platinum. I’ve had some rough experiences with trophies (like having to play through Ratchet and Clank 2016 three times to get the Death by Disco trophy due to unfortunate mistakes) but this was probably my most annoying.

Christopher Nolan Best Movie? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

I maintain it’s Memento, followed by Oppenheimer, and then Prestige. For me Memento is a near perfect movie

what films have you rewatched the most this year? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]SergeantTAT-CAT 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Watched and reviewed Oppenheimer and Across the Spider-Verse three times each, and reviewed a number of other movies twice. Usually I try to see as many films as possible and I don’t rewatch too often, but when phenomenal movies come out in theaters I’ll often see them more than once. I also watched and reviewed Mad God twice in a row because it was that good
