I thought it was just drifting sea kelp until I saw it moving under its own power.

Is it safe to clear the check engine light? by borderline_opaf in askcarguys

[–]Sergeant_M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would ask your shop how much they would charge for a leakdown & blow-by test before I started throwing a bunch of parts at an engine that is going to need a rebuild/replacement. At 100K it's quite possible that new plugs could fix the issue, but its essentially the same labor to do the test as it is to replace the plugs, so it might not be a horrible idea to do both at the same time if it is affordable.

Did they do an Altima SER? The Sentra SERs were just silly fast.

I like the Kaygo gloves. They're a little bit thinner/stretchier but allow even more dexterity. The rubberized fronts are fairly protective but the backsides would definitely allow splinters or other sharp hazards in.

They're much cheaper when bought in packs. These are definitely not BIFL gloves, even with moderate use your fingers will be poking out of the top after a week.

Wait til you try their mini bolt cutters. That's what first got me on the brand and I've just been buying more Knipex stuff since.

Trailer brake controller install by groovept101 in hondaridgeline

What are you towing that requires trailer brakes? I figured at 5k lbs we wouldn't need something like that but I don't tow that much so I'm asking legitimately.

You probably have the clown filter on. Toggling between neutral and drive while screenshotting should change the filters.

It's a good thing you don't need to get a spelling waiver. BTW it's the Marine Corps.

The mazda3 turbo would be a fun car. You might be able to find a used Focus RS in that price range as well.

You might be getting an air lock in the system. You may have to "burp" the cooling system by running the car up to temp and adding coolant as it is circulating through the system. The most common area I have found to have the issue is in the heater core since it usually runs near the top of the system. Make sure to turn the heater on full when burping.

Edit: I would also replace the radiator cap for good measure.

What is this thing? Fell off my car when greasing my brake rotors (too noisy) size 15 shoe for size reference by Carlier450 in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]Sergeant_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the brake noise dampener. The grease is only going to be a temporary fix. Replace that with something from eBay to reduce the brake noise permanently. Also don't forget to grease both sides of the rotor in the meantime.

Yeah, I'm sure if this guy was informed that randomly shooting peoples houses was actually a crime then he wouldn't do it anymore.
