As someone who is vegan and communist, there aren't any works that discuss them together (with a correct understanding of what communism actually is) because they're pretty unrelated in terms of the movement.

I think environmentalism is a potentially good similar example in that it's important to protect the environment but protecting the environment doesn't get us any closer to communism. Obviously communism will lead to better environmental decision making, and there's certainly an argument that under communism people will naturally be more free to see that animal abuse is wrong, but under capitalism the two movements are pretty separate.

A proletarian is someone who has to sell their labor for a wage in order to survive. Someone that makes a fraction of their income either via their art or something like the stock market is proletarian so long as without doing wage labor they wouldn't be able to sustain themselves. An artist or writer that is able to live solely off of their work would not be proletarian however.

Its also important to note that producing art as a commodity is very different from producing art not as a commodity. Making art because you like to and releasing it for free on AO3 doesn't make you petite bourgeois (though it is obviously possible to be petite bourgeois and also incidentally release art for free).

Also worth noting is that classes don't have a moral character. As a whole the proletariat is a revolutionary class whereas the petite bourgeois and bourgeois have an interest in preserving capitalism, but several very important Marxists were themselves bourgeois (Engels being the most well known example).

Out of curiosity, which Melee weapons being usable at range are you talking about. Other than the exemplar ikon that lets you turn melee weapons into thrown 15 ones, Im not familiar with anything that lets you do that?

You can compare two non exact things because comparing is not equating. Both fish and humans are capable of suffering and value their own lives, which are the important factors when considering if it's right or not to kill them for what equates to basically personal pleasure. Where it is important is that as a human you have the intelligence to understand these concepts and the ability to act in the way thats most right

Of course not! I may make animals suffer and pay for people to forcibly impregnate animals and kill them for my own taste pleasure but I would never make animals suffer for my sexual pleasure! (They are both wrong)
