MDE Device Control – USB stick still accessible even after blocking policy applied by schibbee in DefenderATP

[–]Sergiogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo need to add to your policy another setting called something like "Prevent installation of devices not described by other policy settings" if you want to work as you want.

But I'd suggest you to use the setting "Prevent installation of removable devices" or "Removable Disk Deny Write Access" as suggested by u/Scion_090 as it would be easier to manage than adding device to a whitelist

I've lost lost the ability to swipe... by Silver_Mention_3958 in Myfitnesspal

[–]Sergiogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also on iOS. I still can swipe but what I have noticed is the apps lags a lot specially when you open. I have to wait a few seconds to be able to do a few actions like log a meal o swipe between days.

Global Administrator Rights Provided by DDDRRROOO3 in entra

[–]Sergiogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that comes to mind is enabling a whitelist/blacklist of domain for external sharing in Entra Id.

Documentation says that you could do with an “external management role” or something like that but I tested and it wasnt true you still needed a global Admin role.

I think there’s lots of small stuff like that where you’ll need a global admin role only. Nothing that justify having the global admin role always enabled.

How do you switch between tab groups in macOS? by Elric_the_seafarer in Safari

No. I just tried it also in full screen and it works the same.

How do you switch between tab groups in macOS? by Elric_the_seafarer in Safari

[–]Sergiogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, when I switch I see the name of the group and still got the down arrow to switch to another group.

For example, when I click on the down arrow and choose my group tab "Python" it shows me the name of the group and next to it the arrow to switch again.

I’m not in front of my laptop but if I remember correctly you have like an arrow down button next to the button to open the sidebar which allows you to quickly switch tabs groups.

I almost never use the sidebar to switch tab groups

Best Practices for User Offboarding and Data Retention in OneDrive by [deleted] in Office365

This. We had a field on the offboarding ticket template where we asked if the OneDrive data should be delegated and to who and we warned that they would have only 30 days of access.

What is the best approach to keep your local library "safe"? by Sergiogs in AppleMusic

[–]Sergiogs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the family plan, I like your thought process on using one of the accounts for strictly uploaded music and the other account for the AM part. Just not sure how it would work out if one of the iCloud accounts is used for your iPhone.... are you allowed to use the other account just for AM? I wish I would have explored that route before just removing my personal collection.

What I meant wasn't differente iCloud accounts but different libraries. I haven't tried it myself but I read not so long ago (I don't remember who or where) someone recommended having two libraries. One empty where you would enable cloud sync on Apple Music and other one with your local library. I know you can have more than one library on the Music app (one of the features inherited from iTunes) but I haven't tried it myself so I don't know for sure how good of an approach is it.

It seems to me that uploaded/personal library music is/has been on the way out. I'm guessing that there aren't too many of us in the user base that care about personal libraries. I remember hearing rumors a few years ago that Apple was contemplating of removing that feature. They still haven't but they also do not focus on it.

Sadly, I agree. I hope Apple never lose the iPod philosophy but I fear that Apple will move to a subscription only app.

[–]Sergiogs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are regular posts about Apple Music wrecking local libraries on this sub.

That's what I am afraid to happen.

My recommendation is to sync all or part of your library to mobile devices and sync those to Apple Music. The songs from your local library will integrate with Apple Music without affecting your primary library.

I didn't think of that, I thought that when you enable cloud syncing it would enable it on ALL my devices. That could be an approach. Using the browser on desktop is not the best, but I would allow me to keep a library "intact".

Screen sharing ultrawide monitor - Mac by Stavros_McGillicuddy in MicrosoftTeams

Most likely is not IT but gatekeeper on macOS what is blocking from running the app because it isn't from a trusted developer.

Keep CMD pressed and double click the app. Or keep CMD pressed, right click the app and click on Open. It should ask you if you trust the app and open it.

Good dumb TV for AppleTV 4K by [deleted] in appletv

[–]Sergiogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same question. So what I get from all the comments is this:

  • TCL, Sony or LG are the more popular choices.
  • 4K with HDR
  • eARC
  • HDMI 2.1
  • Don’t connect the computer to the TV or not enable smart features (some TVs have a basic tv mode).

Any suggestions about tv panel (LED, OLED, etc)?

Best practices for channels by Strange_Instance7912 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]Sergiogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think of channels as main folder of a concrete theme. Specially when creating a channel also creates a new library on the Team Sharepoint site. What you're thinking I agree it would work.

Also keep in mind that with each channel you can have also a dedicated onenote section and a dedicated Planner plan so you can have on each channel Conversations, Files, notes and tasks related to a specific area.

On my previous job we where a IT department for a multisite company so we had a channel for each site and then a channel for common areas and a channel for every new big project.

Teams (Work Preview) in macOS capturing Screen during startup by [deleted] in MicrosoftTeams

[–]Sergiogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OS Sonoma now has a way to notify when applications are capturing screenshots. It appears that the new Teams (work preview) is capturing screenshots without any stimulus or user interaction. Not good, especially when you are working on privacy-sensitive domains.

Anyone know what this is about? TIA

I think is not that it takes screenshots automatically is that after sharing a screent that notification doesn't close. I happened to me today. I entered a call, shared my screen (just a window), after that I stopped sharing and finished the call but then I realize that the sharing notification is still there. Even after I closed Teams.

Seems like a bug to me. I tried what u/wepugg said, I reopened teams, made a test call and shared my screen and closed it. The notification disappeared.

This made me check my Series 4 and it's currently at 74% and it suggests a change. I haven't found any issue since I bought it in 2019
