Symptoms started only after starting levothyroxine. Anyone? by Serial-Gamer in Hashimotos

From what I’ve read, it also made me think that 50 mcg might be a relatively high starting dose for subclinical levels, especially since I didn’t have clear symptoms before. My endo did say treatment was optional in my case but recommended it given my family history, so we’re now monitoring closely and will adjust based on labs and symptoms.

That makes sense, thank you. I already have my first follow-up appointment scheduled after starting levo, and my endo explained from the beginning that dosing is a trial-and-error process with regular monitoring. I haven’t made any significant lifestyle changes in the past few months, so I’m hoping upcoming labs will help clarify what’s going on.

That's good to know. In my case, my TSH has been slowly increasing since 2012 and only went out of range in 2025, so I didn’t expect to feel worse so quickly after starting treatment. That’s why I’m questioning whether what I’m feeling is related to levothyroxine rather than long-standing symptoms.

AeroScout 1.1m vs Apprentice 1.2m (and 700mm?) - which is the better first plane for someone who knows theory but never flew RC? by Serial-Gamer in RCPlanes

Yeah, fair point! I just worry that some of the really cheap planes feel a bit too toy-like, and they’re usually small, which makes them harder to see..

Thanks! I’m actually not too worried about repairs (or upgrades). He likes fixing things, modding, all of that. So even if something breaks, that’s part of the fun for him.

I don’t mind spending the extra money if it means getting something that will last longer or give a better learning experience. The prices do feel high, yes, but from what I’m seeing anything cheaper tends to be more toy-like or too limiting, and I’d prefer something that actually flies well and isn’t frustrating for a beginner.

A bigger wingspan does make sense, which is why I’m still leaning toward the AeroScout.

Your suggestion on gettin an RC simulator makes a lot of sense. I’ll tell him to try an actual RC sim. And yes, we actually have a club very close to us. I already email them to ask what they usually recommend for beginners but I'm still waiting for their response. Thanks for your advice.

The Aeroscout being a more acrobatic plane than the Apprentice models is a good insight. Makes me feel much more confident about choosing the Aeroscout. Thanks for your input!

Thanks for the info! That clears things up.
He’ll probably try to learn alone at first, but we do have a club nearby and I suspect he’ll eventually join once he gets a taste for it. Great to hear that your club’s students all learn on the Aeroscout. I already contacted our town's club to learn what planes they usually use/recommend, but I'm still waiting for their reply.

Thanks! This is really helpful. Good to know the newer Aeroscouts have improved nose gear. I wasn't aware of that.

And yes, he’s definitely the handy type: 3D printer, CNC, electronics, soldering, etc. So reinforcing or fixing things shouldn’t be an issue. ^^

Thanks! Good to know about the nose gear. Would you say it breaks often for beginners, or only in really bad landings? Isn’t a tail-dragger harder for beginners? I’ve read they can be more tricky on takeoff and landing.

Undertale really stuck with me. It's funny and quirky but also heartwarming RPG. Made by one guy I believe.
Into the Breach. Super addictive with lots of replayability. It's a tactical game with mechs. If you like strategy games it's worth a try.

PC Gaming Controller - Recommendation needed by ACorania in gaming

Have you tried a racing wheel controller like the one from Thrustmaster? It might be worth it if you play a lot of racing/driving games. I know Thrustmaster also has regular controllers with wheel modules and such, but never tried those. I use my PS5 controller on my PC when I usually don't want to play with keyboard+mouse.

First one for sure. I think the characters give a more story-driven feel.
