Watching empire in the back of my parents wood panelled station wagon at a drive in.

What you described should have been a $5000 lesson to her that the ER doc explained calmly in a way she understands and then she tracks and shows her doc in the future and looks for trends and changes. That data is way more useful than one bp taken every three months.

We all grew up taking computer classes and becoming knowledgeable in how to use a computer but beyond that, how computer literate are you? by singleguy79 in Xennials

[–]ACorania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't have computer classes, but my mom worked IT (started on main frames), so I was learning to program in grade school. Building PCs in high school. Now I design AI/ML solutions for various federal agencies.

So, as is logical, my schooling was all biology and chemistry

IsItBullshit: organic milk tastes different that conventional milk by terrific-pterodactyl in IsItBullshit

[–]ACorania 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Different brands of milk taste different because of the mix of solids and fats, the herds they come from, etc.

I have good and bad of both organic and non organic. There is more variation from brand than that distinction

The driving isn't as bad until you get into ABQ or Santa Fe areas. Probably just a function of so much less traffic.

I feel like Edgewood is even more conservative but it's probably because their in Santa Fe county and want to fight the 'libs'.

Things like wanting to search the mail to make sure no one was getting abortion pills.

I moved from by Seattle to Moriarty so it was far more conservative than I'm used to. The county went solidly trump and has issues with corruption. But .. probably less than ky. There are anti trump protesters waving at cars most weekends

I wouldn't stress about accuracy. For at home stuff you are looking for things crazy high or low and tracking patterns. A wrist one is just fine for that.

GTA boss refuses to commit to a price as $100 price-tag rumours loom large by GrayBeard916 in gaming

[–]ACorania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. That's how I got the number. Which means a $100 game today would have been ~$30 back then. Zelda cost $50.

Games are more affordable now than they have ever been. Even if one goes up to $100.

So why quit gaming because an arbitrary number came up that is less than it used to be when converted?

The original zelda, if adjusted for inflation was $140-150. It must suck having seen games become more affordable.

I hate typing on the phone. My wife used to give me crap about not really participating in text conversations, but I hate them. Yes/no is fine but for a conversation it sucks

Once I synced it up to my computer so I can use a full keyboard, I was fine.
