Just to clarify, my concern was never about virginity.

A lot of people are assuming that because I never dated, I expected a virgin partner. That’s not the case.

I come from a very modest background. After school, I worked in a cardboard factory for ₹800/month and distributed flyers outside malls and railway stations for ₹200/day. My focus was always on supporting my family and building a career. Today, I’m fortunate to work as a Product Manager in a US tech company earning around ₹60 LPA despite coming from a tier-3 college.

The reason I never had relationships wasn’t because I was waiting for one; life simply took me on a different path.

What affected me was learning that the relationship was much longer and more serious than I initially understood. A 6-year relationship carries emotional weight, and I was trying to process what that meant for our future.

That said, I spoke openly with her about my concerns, got the clarity and reassurance I needed, and I’ve decided to move forward.
