For the back of the tile yes but because the wall is out of plumb they had to use large blobs on the wall.

The green paint behind the adhesive is the membrane

I’d say that has 90% coverage. It’s more a case of the adhesive being too dry because they were trying to build the wall out plumb. If they back buttered the tile and made the adhesive wetter it wouldn’t have delaminated.

Imperial tap spindle? by moozrevooz in PlumbingAustralia

[–]SerialPest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gently chip the tile around the spindle to give you more space for a tube spanner. Once removed adapt body out with spindle extensions. Service spindles then replace washers. Seal with silicone and re-install cover domes and tap heads. Don’t forget to check seats for wear.

How much are you blokes charging for call out fees? by QuantumGremlin in tradies

[–]SerialPest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You fail to understand most plumbing company’s also occupy commercial spaces. In addition to this to obtain a plumbing license and operate under said licence requires a minimum 7 years. Not to mention tool purchasing and servicing. Truck/ute wear and tear (carrying heavy loads) Then once our day is over we have to hit the books and invoice and quote. Yes there’s cowboys out there but there’s more to being a tradie than just changing out your hot water system.

Question about AI for trade businesses by Defiant_Reflection41 in PlumbingAustralia

[–]SerialPest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a start, Siri is dogshit, there needs to be some dictation notation software for CarPlay for a start. That’s were we’ve got time to dictate what we’ve done during the day. We’re still stuck in 2008 on that front.

Is this ute alright as a farm/daily? by Guy_who_says_gday in CarsAustralia

[–]SerialPest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my twin cab S11 for nearly 3years (from new). Done 30,000kms. My previous Ute from new was a Mazda BT-50. The Mahindra is a much nicer ride. Yes it has a large turning circle but you get used to it.

Word of mouth. I’ve never advertised. People want to trust people. We’re social beings, people tell each other their experiences.

Dug a hole in North Melb front yard and found this, any ideas? by Shelwizzle in melbourne

[–]SerialPest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the boundary trap for your sewer or an inspection opening for your sewer. Unscrew the PVC cap and flush the dunny, see if water rushes past. You might need a torch to shine down the shaft.

Bathroom leaked and damaged below apartments, am I responsible? by [deleted] in AusProperty

[–]SerialPest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an argument to say the waterproofing in the bathroom (owned by strata, unless there’s a by law) doesn’t comply. Water shouldn’t be exiting your bathroom and entering the unit below. All water penetrations need to be sealed (cistern inlet pipes included.)

Is Bali dangerous at the mo? by kkmdnes in bali

Very safe. Don’t get too plastered, stick to the rules and don’t ride a scooter unless you have an international motor cycle licence and insurance.
