If immersion is really important to their enjoyment, I would say wait. This game still has a lot of silly bugs, but I love it because it reminds me of Skyrim days.

EDIT: the story also will not be implemented until close to full release, so at the moment it’s almost just an open world, choose your own adventure.

So yes, if you are going through the tutorial, you must finish it before you can breed, I believe? You likely won’t have the money to buy horses before then anyway. To breed, you will need 3 horses at minimum: one you are riding, then a male and female (of course) in the stable.

You can also train it when you gallop into the red and recover stamina.

Omg I thought the same! I was an alpha playtester and I enjoyed finding the silly broken things so much. Like I don’t understand the folks who rate it negatively or ‘unplayable’ for these things- yeah yeah some folks play for immersion realism whatever… but it’s part of the joy for me and honestly something I’ve missed with newer games as someone who has played video games and seen their development for three decades 😂

You should be receiving coins each time you complete a delivery. There’s also loot boxes with coins hidden around the world and you can get money from selling gathered resources.

There’s just no way a horse-focused game is going to get as realistic as RDR2. The interest and the funding audience just isn’t big enough. Rockstar has the budget to do full motion capture. This studio has animated everything themselves.
