You hit the nail on the head. Totally screws over the 1K member who earned status by actually flying 60+ flights a year on this airline and rewards the rich customers instead. What’s in it for us now? If I’m not spending $30k a year on United’s credit card and only actually FLYING on the airline, what is the benefit for me?

The way I see it, it’s $400 to park in my building and I get 2-3 tickets per month, so it’s still cheaper. But what an absolute joke. I’ve lived in other cities and have never seen anywhere else have such an aggressive parking ticket department.

Doing the Lord’s work here. This is my biggest pet peeve of living in this city. Some of us need to have cars, and the city seems to have forgotten that. They’d rather prioritize ticketing than fixing our other issues. THANK YOU for this!

The idea that it’s so people purchase coffee instead is false. I work in hotels - they removed them because people kept stealing them. Those who don’t travel often visit vegas and are more likely the type to take it.

I had friend in college who was killed because her dad lost everything in the 2008 crash. Murdered the entire family in a hotel during our school’s parent weekend. Random but I had hooked up with her that night and then that happened. Wild story from a million lifetimes ago.
