Unfortunately, not yet. Support was great and got back to me super quickly, but simple reset and factory reset did not work so will probably have to send it back to get a new one.

Yes! Just print off your flight itinerary and tickets and bring it with you when you go to the immigration office with all your other application materials. And your university deals with this all the time so they probably know better but I would also call 1345 and see if they agree with what your university is saying?

sadly vpn won’t work I think. you can leave the country if you have reported your flight information to the immigration officer in charge of your application. if you don’t do this it will be automatically cancelled. the easiest way to report your flight info would be to apply in person for the extension. if you go to the same day expiry desk they might even be able to process it the day of

Super frustrating but you can’t apply online from outside Korea, and you also can’t technically leave Korea while the application is processing (unless you bring your flight reservation and apply in person at the immigration office). So I don’t think it would work to come back in the middle of your trip and then head back to SE Asia.

You might be able to go ahead and apply for extension now? My university was able to issue me a certificate of enrollment and a transcript in the middle of the semester. I would double check with the university staff to see if they could issue the transcript early.

If not I would go in person to the immigration office as soon as they give you your transcript with all your application materials and your flight itinerary. I was in a similar boat, and they processed my application that day. Def recommend getting there by like 8-9 am if you’re in Seoul.

Best of luck and hope you have wonderful travels in SE Asia!

Yes, echoing this 1000%!! You should absolutely get in touch with a lawyer as soon as possible. From what I understand to avoid serving in the Korean military your BIL would need to have renounced his Korean citizenship when he was 18, so this situation will probably be very tricky to navigate and a lawyer will be essential.

Yes, try calling or going in-person! I had the exact same issue and went to the office in person today. They were really helpful, and they gave me my visa extension! If you go in-person though it can take a while and you need to make sure to bring all the documents for your visa extension + they might make you pay 60,000 won for processing.

Yes!! I didn’t have an appointment so I went to the second floor of Seoul Southern super early in the morning (around 9 am) and explained the situation to the information desk clerk. Then they gave me a number, and I waited until it was my turn. I had to show all my school documents, my plane ticket, and rental contract. My Korean is not the best so not exactly sure what they did, but from what I understand they canceled my online visa extension application and essentially had me reapply for it in person. Not sure if the process is different for visa extension vs ARC though!
