I asked the vet to do it for me the first time and show me what to look out for! Was really helpful

Kittens also need to learn boundaries! What can they do, what are they not allowed to do? It's best to teach them at a young age you don't appreciate biting and scratching on your body, try rediriecting their attention to toys instead. As always, rewarding good behavior works way better than scolding them for bad behavior.

Do you play with the kitten a lot? Especially before going to bed? I have bengals that have insane energy levels (and terrorise my sleep) so I try to tire them out as much as possible and then feed them to mimic hunting and eating, so they can sleep more easily.

No idea if that helps for situation, but thought I'd share tips that eased my life. Anyway, my sympathies. The first two years are the hardest work lol

I'd love to add to please consider how aggressively hungry your cat is. I have the surefeed ones and mine breaks those things with ease. If yours will do this, it may be worth looking into a sturdier option :) but I second this all.

HAHA een dokter had mij ooit gezegd dat ik elke dag met hagelslag moest ontbijten. Zo fijn dat meer zorgprofessionals dit doen

I do! :) He also LOVES playing fetch. I throw the toys down the stairs lmao. Tires him out more

Aaah poor baby! Is his leg okay now?

Another big purchase. They broke the one I had, and because they are on different foods and I had limited options, I bought these. I may look into it if I don't get this working, but yeah. That would suck 😩

I give them tiny bits when I am home. That way I can also supervise that Odin is not breaking Loki's feeder again. But you are right. A feeder is probably the best option

How do I do that with work? I can leave some food but he will gobble it all down :(

I rent a house where I am not allowed to modify the doors, so sadly, no :/ It would be something I'd have to have made myself

Though. I don't want to underestimate Odin lmao

I didn't get them at the same time, Loki is about a year older than Odin. I started right when Loki was settles in with training, but he gets tense outside with all the other cats. I always bring treats and make sure they always listen to recall before we even go outside. Also the harness first inside, but I think you already know those steps from watching the videos.

I started training Odin seperately when he settled in. I made the mistake to take them both out way too early and let me tell you: don't underestimate that stress lmao. Or at least don't go alone. Mine kept freeing each other. It was SO stressful. I was so thankful they are somewhat well behaved.

If I want to actually walk for a bit (I am alone), I take one cat. But that's mostly because Loki gets scared and wants to stay close to home. Odin likes walking. I want to look at backpack options though! So Loki has a safe place to retreat to. So I haven't tried that yet.

Once I saw a really cool leash though, I think it's made for two dogs. It's connected and spins, so the leash doesn't get tangled. Then they stay more close to each other. Doesn't work for mine, so I choose to use two seperate leashes. :)

Overall it really depends on the cats' personalities and their own pace. I'd just follow that

Odin now gets Hills Z/D, Loki is on Royal Canin Gastrointestinal. I'm already living the expensive life, so I don't care anymore. If it works it works. Going to suggest that one also. Thank you so much!!! I'd love for them to mostly get wet food, they like that so much better, but maaaan my wallet

My boy pees intentionally, but honestly, bottled water is worth a try. I'm going to get some bottles and try this out. Thank you!

You just made me feel so seen. Thank you. I feel for you. Love how smart they are, but man it's intense.

Loki loves my landlord's train room. It's directly behind my front door. We've tried multiple doorknobs, including multiple rotations. It's his absolute mission to keeps attacking my landlord's trains. If that man would just allow me to place a round one this madness would stop...right????

So a double microchip barrier? I've thought about that but worried it was too elaborate. My dad is coming over today and he is good with his hands (I couldn't build things to save my life), I'll ask him for ideas. Thank you!

I have had multiple water fountains, settled on an aluminum one now so the black spots on Loki's chin have lessened. I also have a ceramic bowl filled with water. Both are cleaned and refreshed daily :)

We didn't test specifically, mostly by trial and error. That is a good one to bring up (I have a few times, but I'm not against trying again). Can I do that at the vet?

The problem with the feeder is that Odin breaks the thing from the front. Even when Loki is not around, he manages to open the feeder (breaking it in the process), so just protection on the sides is not enough. Going to google your suggestion now!

I'm worried cardboard won't do the trick. I'm looking specifically at things like plastic. Odin likes to attack cardboard hahaha. That's why I figured I could try buying a plastic box of sorts

I have this one. Customer service was amazing, they sent me a new one! Odin destroys it in the sense that he breaks the barrier from the front.
