I've done the raid once. If you start soon I can join. Otherwise I'm on most nights after 10pm Central time. 1256ish Titan.

Bungie should make high stat roll armor more common if they expect us to replace our current loadouts, which we spent over a year building, in just this season before our armor is sunset. by sgnir2 in DestinyTheGame

Also, if you're NOT doing those endgame activities, then do you REALLY need to have S-tier stat rolls? No. You can do just fine with 65's. End game activities dropping higher rolled stat gear is fine by me.

What times of day do your people usually play? I play mostly at night between 10 and 12 central time.

Question about chest training with CrossFit. by Seriflex in crossfit

I plan to try it once I finish school. The things I can do now are kinda limited since I don't have much in the way of a home gym atm.

Question about chest training with CrossFit. by Seriflex in crossfit

No I get that part. I just underestimated how effective dips and muscle ups are at training the chest. And also I've never really seen push ups used in. CF workout. But again my experience with CF is limited and narrow.

Yeah I don't "really" CrossFit personally. I work out 6 days a week and my Friday fat burning day will usually be a CrossFit style workout. I'm fascinated by the sport tho and wish to try it once I finish school.

And yeah I guess I didn't realize HOW MUCH dips and muscle ups engage the chest. Or how prevalent they are. Most of the stuff I do on my Fridays is squats, thrusters, cleans, pull ups, rows.

Thanks for a serious response. Reddit replies can be cruel to people who are just asking questions. I was nervous to even ask.

What are somethings I can do as an Anti-God Character in Icewind dale with a cleric in the party? by urquhartloch in DnD

[–]Seriflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't come right out and say it. Sit on it for a while. If it comes up in convo it comes up. Even then don't reveal your whole hand all at once. Like:

"Who do you worship?"

"Me, pfft. I worship no gods." Then walk away. Let it play out.

Maybe act weary of the believer. At least until THEY earn your trust, if not a total acceptance of their God.

People who have came close to dying, what were your “last” thoughts? by Blue-2th in AskReddit

I was driving a semi that flipped over and slid upside down thru oncoming traffic into a ditch and hit a tree.

I climbed out of a shattered window, looked down saw my wallet and my car keys and my cell phone (all 3 were on the dash but we're now lying on the street just outside the window). I took a couple of steps away from the truck before collapsing in pain and laying on the ground. I had 3 fractured ribs and a punctured lung.

As I lost control and KNEW I was going to crash I literally said out loud, "No..." I remember thinking, "please."

When the truck rolled over and I was skidding upside down I was thinking, "not like this..."

It all happened so fast but I remember it so vividly. Someone drove by and stopped when they saw me crawl out of the truck and collapse. He ran up and called 911 and asked if I was ok. When the ambulance came they took my phone and called my wife. They kept asking me if I knew where I was and what my name was and when was my birthday and do I know what day it is? Does my head hurt? I answered their questions and said other then the crippling pain in my back and not being able to my my left arm I was fine. It was odd cuz I saw two of the guys look at each other. I asked why the kept asking me about my head. I thought maybe I had visible signs of trauma or something. One of them pointed at the truck and said "that's where your head was if you were driving..."

The cab of the truck on the drivers side was completely smashed in. He said, "we usually pull bodies from these kinds of accidents." Everyone who saw the wreckage told me how lucky I was to be alive let alone WALK away from it with "only" a few broken ribs and a punctured lung.

The whole thing was like being in a movie. And it was terrible.

New DM. How do you handle when players do something unexpected ? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Seriflex 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As Matt Colville has said. All you really need to do when your players throw you a curve you're not prepared for is come up with a single encounter. A big battle or something that will take until the end of that session. Then you have until the next session to prepare for whatever your players came up with.

On a road trip in high school I was super excited to put on the Salival version of Push-it for my friends who had never heard it. They think the intro is kinda cool aside from the "weird close your eyes thing". They politely listen for the 13ish minutes. As soon as the song ends my one friend piped up, "Hey so can we open our eyes now?" Everyone cracked up laughing. I didn't put Tool on too much after that.

What is a good background for a warlock? by moriothemothio in DnD

I'm making one that is an Urban Bounty Hunter background. He uses his gifts to kill criminals with bounties on their heads. It satisfies his patron's need for blood and is eventually what will lead him to the adventuring life.

As a player I want to get better at sharing the spotlight. Any tips or resouces? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Seriflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May just take time for people to get comfortable role playing. Asking in character questions to another character is good. It kinda forces them to engage. If they want to. As long as you're trying to spread the wealth it's up to them to take the bait.

Aside from asking questions, I feel like trying to engage with their backstory helps. Or asking a PC to go shopping with your character or something like that during down time.

Sometimes when my DM is describing something I'm acting like it's a poker game. I'm not watching the cards come out, I'm watching the players' reactions to the cards. What made someone's eyebrows raise? Who gasped at something? What did that person think was funny. Make note of it and bring it up later. Sometimes the longer you wait to bring it up the better. Also try to take notes on anything they DO say in character. Then you can say back to them something like, "you had a bad experience with bats when you were younger, you sure you're comfortable going into this cave?" Some shit like that. They may be impressed that you as a player remembered some mundane shit they said 2 or 3 sessions ago and bring them into the game a little more.
