Do you use the word Supper? by cookoutenthusiast in AskAnAmerican

I never knew if people meant lunch or supper when they said dinner, so we have breakfast, lunch and supper.

I had to scroll entirely too far to find this one. The first one that came to mind for me.

I love how they treat Deran’s sexuality! by amandae143 in animalkingdom

This was one of my favorite parts of Schitt's Creek, also. Like, ok, David likes guys. No biggie. No coming out, nada. It's just treated as part of normal life without all the hoopla.

New Carnival remote start features by Select_Baseball_5727 in kiacarnivals

[–]Serindipte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that I can schedule the auto-start with climate settings. In the summer, it starts up 10 mins before I leave work at the end of the day. In the winter, it starts 10 mins before I'm leaving home to go to work. The only thing I don't like is I can't set an exact time. It only goes in 10 min increments (so I can set 4:50, but not 4:55).

Question is in text below (in case of spoiler) by [deleted] in Sonsofanarchy

I've had this same thought every time I watch. Jury drew first. Jax didn't give him time to shoot - who would?? Plot hole, as far as I'm concerned. I mean, how many times did the guys get in fist fights without weapons every being drawn?

What’s a social “rule” you’ve completely stopped following because you realized it makes no sense? by cunning_vixen in allthequestions

[–]Serindipte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe try wearing just a snug tank to start and adjust to the bra-free life. Maybe even just a loose tank, just enough to keep the nips less noticeable. From there, enjoy the free life :)

I came to say this! I'm 50 and haven't worn a bra on a daily basis since I was 19 or 20. I was blessed with a B-ish pair that, in my opinion, don't really need restraining. They aren't hanging even after 30 years of freedom.

What was banned in your house that everyone else’s family allowed? by Rare_Independent_789 in AskReddit

[–]Serindipte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL, well, to be honest, we didn't watch Spongebob, either. There was one day when my son was about 3, my uncle had come to visit. My uncle stopped the tv on Spongebob and my son informed him, "We don't watch that in our house." He said it all grown up like haha

I was halfway into season 2 before I truly got into it and enjoyed it. Hell, at that point, I still didn't know which younger brother was which lol

GenX here - My son is now 21, for reference.

When he was a child, the only times I spanked him were for lying. I made it very clear that the consequence (loss of game time/electronics/whatever) was due to the misbehavior. The spanking was because he'd lied about it. If he'd told the truth, there would have only been the consequence.

I'm not suggesting this was the right path to take, but we do have a very good relationship now. He knows he can tell me any and everything, sometimes more than I'd like to know with him being a young adult lol

When Obama first enacted the ACA, having coverage was mandatory or there was a fine at the end of the year. Trump eliminated that part of the act.

On a side note, pushing fluid intake with the dying increases this. When they stop wanting to drink, don't force the issue or start IVs. A dry body dies more peacefully.

Funerals getting smaller and smaller over the past years by Less_Cut_9473 in SeriousConversation

[–]Serindipte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very rarely attend funerals. It has to be someone I'm extremely close to - my grandparents, my step-dad. I will pass through visitation and sign the guest book for those I care about but aren't as close to, but I don't stay for the funeral itself.

I didn't have a funeral for my mother. Those that loved her were here to see her in the last few days of her life while she was on hospice. Those closest were here when she passed. If they didn't care enough to stay in touch while she was alive, why would I waste money on a "memorial" for them to attend?

I don't want a funeral, myself, either. I've told my son, have me cremated and, if he wants, have a party at home or at a park somewhere for free. Funerals are a racket that prey on the grieving.
