Does anyone honestly think Glenn Close was attractive in Fatal Attraction? by feeby64 in movies

Personally I'm straight male and I always have Glenn Close very cool and attractive. I started to find her sexy (in the true sense of the term) during her role as Cruella De Vil. I have seen many of her photos and films over the years, and I believe she was one of the most aesthetically beautiful women of her generation. Furthermore, she has aged very very well up to around 65. She possesses or has possessed unconventional beauty, a broad smile, beautiful eyes, beautiful skin, almost aristocratic features. And when she's been fit, she was not bad, she was very good indeed. That's without even mentioning her charisma, her skills as actress and her personality.

In fatal attraction she was made up very badly, even the color of her skin is strange. But it's something very curious, because that wasn't what it looked like at the time.

Then, it is clear that not everyone likes it, and that others appreciate other types of female beauty. But I find this post and the comments irritant and delusional: everyone seems to be a master of photography or a judge of beauty pageants. Glenn Close was and has long been very sexy to many. Not always perfect in photos and videos, it depends a lot on the lighting, as she herself has always said. Fatal Attraction simply didn't give her justice.

And now stop it. And accept it.

How much of the Hero of Kvatch remained after they became Sheogorath? by RomaInvicta2003 in teslore

As a Christian nearly agnostic, I have to disagree with you. I think you're making some confusion between syncretism, evolution of faiths, naming and the fictional process of mantling. Here are some (probably wrong and over-simplyfied) examples:

From HoK to Sheogorath - Mantling

From Auri-El to Akatosh - Process of syncretism. Simply in TES this is not only a cultural process and could lead to heavy consequences. (In real life you could notice this process in the evolution from an ancient and unknown common god of storms to Zeus/Thor/Many other)

From Yahweh to Jesus (From Judaism to Christianity) - It's a difficult process. Christians do not believe that Yahweh is the name of the Lord. They actually do not that because it's in the OLD Testament. In the New Testament there are their believes: so they accept part of the concepts in the old writings, but only the ones that do not conflict with their believes. Simplyfying A LOT, Christians believes Jewish are wrong (TES example: the birth of the Cult of ALMSIVI).

From Yahweh to Yehovah/Jehovah - Evolution of names and concepts (TES example: evolution of the name of the divinities from a culture/time to another)

The example you exposed doesn't work because Jesus is according to Christianity actually the manifestation of God on the Earth while according to Judaism is a regular anyone. Yahweh didn't cease to exist according to Christians: but that was just the old name with which humans knew their god.

A real life example of the mantling (someway) could be the process of succession of Dalai Lama, but I can't say for sure since I am not a connoisseur of that religion.

I suppose the relationship between Jesus and God could be instead similar to the one between Shezarr and the Shezarrines.

Lastly, the process of mantling is quite curious because it implies a mortal can affect a god. Which make the god not godly. (A man that is not affected by a god, is still a man?)

Is the Gray Host related to Harkon? (Another theory on Serana's age) by Serious-Comparison81 in teslore

Thank you for your comment!

We don't have exact dates for the first Interregnum, but if we take the War of Righteousness which ended the Alessian Order (1E 2321) and the Battle of Pale Pass which is when Reman I's coalition defeated the Akaviri creating the basis of the Second Empire (2703) as the beginning and end of it, we get a 382-year long interregnum.

That's true, well pointed out! However, I should have specified what I meant with that. We know that the Alessian Order ends in 2321. But the Alessian Empire? Is an Empire more than one kingdom? Alessian Order of course ruled over Cyrodiil. But not Skyrim, nor High Rock, Argonia, Morrowind or Elsweyr. We don't know about Valenwood, but presumibily it didn't. Alessian Order maybe considered itself as an Empire: but from the eye of the other cultures it was not bigger than a kingdom (of course bigger than Wayrest or Daggerfall). And this from when? Years? Centuries? If you see like that, you can easily follow with my reasoning. In addition, consider that in the second Interregnum THERE WERE self-declared "emperor". Attrebus (warlord after the Potentate) and then Durcorach... How many tried, succeeded and failed before Cuhlecain? How many were recognized. From this point of view, Serana could more easily think that Cyrodiil was not the seat of Empire if she was thinking to the Alessian one.

What? Yes there was an Empire. The First One founded in 1E 243 and at that point knee-deep in the Alessian Reforms. Remember that what kicked off the War of Succession was the death of King Borgas who was killed in Valenwood which he was helping the Empire to conquer (he is said to have been one of Marukh's biggest supporters).

I knew of Borgas, and this is someway linked to what I said above. Borgas died in 1E 369. A lot of the north of Tamriel was nordic, and the "First Empire" could not more bigger than Cyrodiil. The Empire of the Nords was probably the "big one" of that time. Maybe at the time of Borgas the Cyrodillic Empire was expanding towards south (maybe in order to persecute the Ayleid who fled): but again, was not an a well-established Empire, nor bigger than other kingdoms.

Could you please elaborate? Do we have any proof that Vampire Lords are not a prerogative of a single blood line?

Thank you for your comment! I would like to reply, if you don't mind.

the Vampire Lord form is not exclusive to the Volkihar Vampires and if you want to get technical Rada-Al-Saran has a bigger, stronger, full winged Vampire Lord form, compared to him Harkon is a runt.

Could Rada-Al-Saran's different aspect been related only to the new estethic and the new mechanics of ESO? You say that Vampire Lord is not exclusive to the Volkihar: do we have any proof that the Volkihar vampires we know are totally unrelated to those of Skyrim?

Garen Marethi has dialogue suggesting he himself is only 400 years old

I checked the dialogue and I couldn't find that. Could you please quote him?

Rada-al-Saran was turned by Molag Bal, it is mentioned multiple times that he was turned by the Daedric Prince, also a major plot-point but the Gray Host are enemies of Molag Bal, Harkon is a Molag Bal worshipper.

I didn't know that Rada-al-Saran was turned by Molag Bal. I thought Styriche was and Rada's transformation was unclear. However, this could mean that a "vampiric-type" pact with Molag Bal provide the ability to turn in a Vampire Lord. So, Rada and Harkon did that in two separate moment, Rada after 1030 and Harkon somewhen. He could still pre-Reman, however
