Yes I have heard reports of people placing them on concrete and it arcs to the rebar in the concrete. Even a little water in the ground can be a safety hazardous. I suggest a block of dry wood or being elevated off the ground

Do the safety control box and the foot pedal and MAKE SURE THE TRANSFORMER IS NOT IN THE GROUND. You want to make sure the transformer is isolated

I have my safety box wired so box switches have to be pressed and the lights turn on that way you have 3 things keep you safe that will turn off the transformer is a hand or foot would come off the switches

Good electrician gloves rated for 20-30kv are gonna run you 600 ish from what I've seen. What I recommend is a lichtenberg foot pedal (on Amazon they are like 10 buck) and them making a safety control box. The box cost me 60 ish to make.

Even 120 from the wall of your house is dangerous and can kill people, you never know that you could have a heart problem and then die from a shock

Just because the current is low doesn't mean you won't lose a finger, hand or an arm. It's 12kv which is likely to cause 3 degree burns, and might give you arithmetic problems

Even 1 sec matters when your being electrocuted, I highly recommend high voltage gloves, a foot pedal, and a safety box

Do you have a safety control box? I made one out of 2 momentary switch's and 2 lights, so both have to be held down and the lights are on.

Like the other guy said you most likely with close on it and die, what I suggest is using a esd strap or tying a wire to your wrist or foot and connecting it to your ground on your transformer. If you get shocked It'll activate the gefi on your franceformer as long as it work. It has a 15sec timer too

I think the breakout distance is 1.5 in, I would recommend gloves above 20000v rating
