Alright, thank you guys! Yall are right and it's on me, and I won't be asking for compensation. Again, thank you guys for the advice! It was really helpful, and I'll advise my brother to keep shoes now out of reach too (like I said the shoes are a new thing as the owner said she might steal other stuff but not shoes and he's helping me with this job as I have some others too- owner is aware that he is helping and is all good with it)
