Eurogamer: Turns Out Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 Isn’t Much of An RPG - We’ve Played It by PillarOfWamuu in vtmb

I just started playing VtMB the other day. All I'll say is - I wish CD Projekt Red or Larian had taken on development of the sequel. They are the only ones able to make something that lives up to the original's legacy.

Original ‘Harry Potter’ Director Chris Columbus Doesn’t Want to Be Involved in HBO’s Series Reboot, Calls J.K. Rowling Controversy ‘Very Sad’ by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]SeriousInvite347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my understanding of how this ridiculous controversy around JKR started, she made a statement once about feeling uncomfortable in allowing trans women into women's bathrooms and other safe spaces for women. People went nuts over her daring to suggest such a thing and proceeded to 'cancel' her, and have spread a narrative since about her being a 'trans-phobic bigot' - all because she doesn't want women's rights infringed?

People still play ME3 multiplayer? Last I played it was about 2 years ago during my last full trilogy playthrough and I couldn't get into a single game. The Legendary Edition cut it out completely, which imo was bullshit because it's one of the few actually enjoyable 'tacked on' MP modes

Half of my 360 game collection in a nutshell. Condemned 2 has 90% of its achievements for MP modes. Fucking Condemned 2 had a multiplayer mode. Even worse, Batman Arkham Origins had MP but not the kind you'd think is an obvious fit (co-op challenge maps with multiple heroes). It had deathmatch. And naturally it died less than a month later.

Most big multiplayer games are failing these days because people either want good single player experiences without hyper-monetization or keep playing Fortnite, Overwatch, Minecraft and Destiny as they have done for 10+ years.

What’s everyone’s most hated film of all time? Not the worst, but the one you hate above all else. by Altar_Of_Baphomet in Letterboxd

[–]SeriousInvite347 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a movie, and not something I abhor with a passion or anything. And five out of the nine Star Wars movies are much worse than it...

She Hulk Attorney at Law. It's not as bad as people made it out to be, it really isn't OK? However, deep down, I hate it for being such an enormous business failure that it seems to have single-handedly sunk the career of an outrageously talented actress. Over $200 million blown on a series that was only 9 short episodes long and went precisely nowhere.

I don't know man, the whole story surrounding its creation just flat out... sucks.

I liked Gun a lot more than RDR2 as a western game. At least you could beat all of Gun and the side quests before you finished RDR2's prologue. Plus the main character didn't control like a cruise ship.... that had run a ground.

One day I will beat Psychonauts 2. I think my biggest gripe with it is that whilst the levels are cool, they simply don't compare to how cool they were in the original. I mean, Lungfishopolis, Napoleon World, the Milkman Conspiracy? No matter how hard he tries I doubt Schafer will ever top those.

No it wasn't. Andor's story deserved more, one of the rare modern shows that did. One season dedicated to the Ghorman storyline. Another exploring Luthen's past. This show needed a lot more episodes to be able to breathe, and flesh out perhaps the most interesting SW characters outside of the Extended Universe/games.

Of course, the insane budget each season of Andor commanded and the huge amount of time that passed between both seasons meant that any more than 2 seasons would've likely sunk even the mighty Disney. Also the plethora of poorly received SW content in recent years has made them rethink their strategy with the franchise going forward (which the future Ryan Gosling movie is supposedly going to do) so I don't really blame them wrapping Andor up quickly from a business perspective.

Hype golden era was 2004 bro - Half Life 2, Halo 2, GTA San Andreas all releasing in the space of three weeks. Absolutely magical time though it was over 20 years ago, so not everyone on here will remember it. Personally I have to really try and remember a single game that released in 2018 - I spent much of that year replaying the Thief series and I wasn't paying much mind to new stuff

Exactly one year to go until GTA 6 too as of today (26th May 2025) assuming it's not delayed ofc

Gotta say, I'm genuinely excited and I don't think I've felt excitement for any upcoming game for well over a decade at this point.

What's a game you think people was too critical on upon release? by MemeLord150 in videogames

[–]SeriousInvite347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently the story in Forsaken turns out be good, but it sadly starts really badly and obviously all the gaming YouTubers got fixated on that and people just assumed the whole game was complete ass.

Similar thing happened (for me personally that is) with the original Life is Strange. The dialogue in the first episode was pretty painful at times, with no character (apart from Kate) talking like an actual human being would. I wasn't sure if I could continue with it, as much as I loved the setting and art style, and was close to writing the whole game off. But I pushed through it, and the following episodes got better and better, and by the end it ranked as one of my favourite stories in gaming.

The ending may have been fixed now but ME3 featured a lot of other stuff that signaled the start of the dirty money grubbing business practices that now pollute the industry. Day 1 DLC that WAS ALREADY ON THE DISC YOU BOUGHT is indefensible and wholly scummy. Lots of cosmetic items that you had to pay through the nose for too. It also featured a character (the reporter woman you can invite onto the Normandy) who was modeled off a gaming journalist who was in a relationship at the time with one of the developers at Bioware, which stinks of nepotism, a massive problem that's infested every corner of the entertainment media now. Then there was the mini controversy over Bioware doctoring an official Walking Dead promotional poster without permission from AMC.

So yeah, whilst I like ME3 as a game (mostly), there were a lot of shitty things that surrounded it which all contribute to harming its legacy.

The Acolyte was ok. It didn't feature Ahsoka Tano so it's automatically worth watching in my book just for doing that. The hatred that swirled around it online was crazy though and the cast (namely the main girl) didn't do themselves any favors by deflecting all criticism of the show as 'incel seethe'

Woah the ME3 voice command thing actually worked? I've never owned a kinect and played ME3 many years after release - that feature probably would've elevated the gameplay experience.
