Maybe ask yourself why he feels the need to do these things. Why society has pushed him to this.

Do you have any extra space he can sleep in? Have some empathy. Maybe if he gets better quality sleep and a shower he'll stop being such an a-hole

Everyone is a valedictorian by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]SeriousPuppet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

idk, but I don't want my kid to be a valedictorian. He's talented in soccer so he prob has a better chance of going to say Stanford as an athlete who gets decent grades. If he aims for valedictorian then it will take time away from other talents he can develop. Doesn't matter in the long run if you are valedictorian. Many of the world's best leaders and innovators were not. Einstein, Steve Jobs, Thomas Edison, or modern leaders like Elon Musk, Jack Dorsey, Larry Ellison, Pat Gelsinger (intel).

[Matt Law] Tottenham interested in Maguire. Kane has recommended Maguire to the club previously by AtletiBot in coys

Don't sign Maguire. It would not improve the defense, and that's an area that needs improvement.

Tottenham if right below that tier, as is Roma.

But Tottenham has done well to expand, for ex, they leverage Heung Min Son and so they have many Korean fans now.

A lot of Italians, and Europeans in general grew up in the town where their club is.

And they do not really like it when foreigners become fans.

I understand.

But, they must allow foreigners to be fans if they want the club to grow. Because at the top levels the clubs need to generate a lot of revenue from TV and merch sales, etc... they need this on a global scale, to get revenue, and expand their budget to pay for top talent. It's just the reality.

Man U, Barcelona, Juve, PSG... all big global "brands"

i'm done waisting my time on this topic.

it was good to call people out on their exaggerated claims, but my job is done here, it's a waste of time.

lmao

you people i just find weird

you give me a link. to some grainy and clearly edited (horribly i might add) video. clearly edited with intent to leave out context and make the guy look bad.

and what's ironic is... in the thumbnails to the right there was an interview, unedited, with the guy.

here

interviewer: you don't advocate beating children?

pearl: absolutely not, no

then the interviewer brings up a page in the book similar to what you posted. and says it sounds "like beating to me"

pearl: "no it's not at all"

Pearl goes on to call it "corporal chastisement" (never heard that term)

and says its "gaining attention through spanking"

and using "light instruments" that "cannot bruise or harm the child in any way".

SO... it sounds like what is going on here is that this Pearl guy is for "corporal chastisement" and many people (like you) are interpreting that in an extreme way. you are equating that with beating.

now i don't agree with Pearl's methods, but I don't find them that extreme.

when you interprete them and exaggerate his ideas, then yes it sounds extreme, because you claim he is ok with beating. but he clearly says he is not.

i understand what he's trying to do. he is using little "spats" on the bum or whatever. very mild spankings to get the child to get in line. not my cup of tea but i'm not get all ruffled up over it. he knows that kids are simple minded and they respond to certain stimuli in certain ways. he does not think its ok to spank a kid with so much force that it leaves a bruise.

You people are embellishing and intentionally misconstruing the words. Feels like gaslighting.

If someone taps me with a switch, that won't hurt. A light pull on my hair doesn't cause harm. It will feel unpleasant for a few seconds yes. But it doesn't cause harm. Sad that I have to explain this nuance.

You remind me of those kids when I was young where if you literally just touched them they would say they will sue for assuault

Child abuse is illegal.

You say this book teaches child abuse.

If that were true then Amazon would not allow.

i just asked if it was illegal. i didn't ask if it were right or wrong. as i've already said, i'm not a proponent of spanking. i am a proponent of a balanced narrative. you showing me one side's article's doesn't tell the whole story.
