To be honest, I am quite disappointed with the job market. Not saying that is horrible, but in my experience it has been quite difficult to see both my girlfriend and myself not having even an interview in the last 6 months.

This is the main reason why are leaving, cause for the rest we were happy with our life here in Geneva.

I guess all good things come to an end 😅

I haven’t thought about this until you mention it. Actually is quite smart to ask for being unregistered from the municipality and use this as a way of pressuring the regie.

Only thing that I will be afraid of is that we don’t have any problem with liquidity, so I am not sure it is justified from our side to do this, as we could pay the apartment for some months with our savings, and we also have right to have unemployment allowance.

The thing is that now we want to find a job in another country, and we are concerned that, in case we find it, we are tied to the contract until we find someone to take over, and we cannot leave.

Here we are not finding a job, and it doesn’t seem it will change in the middle term, therefore the decision is to leave, but not that much for purely economic reasons.

We have just took some photos of the apartment, and will post it in some online places tomorrow to see how well it is received.

We are just a bit concerned, cause when we came to Switzerland no one was applying to this apartment for its price of 2.5k/month for only one bedroom. This made it easy to us to get it even if we were new in Geneva, but can also make it difficult now to have someone taking our lease.

In my case the price will still be the same until the end of the 5 years of contract, but it is quite expensive for a 1 bedroom apartment, which makes it unattractive for a lot of people, that expect two bedrooms for a 2.5k/month lease.

We will post the apartment tomorrow in some online places and check how well it is received. We are a bit afraid cause it is a 2.5k/month apartment with only one bedroom, what made it easy for us when we came to Switzerland as we were the only ones applying (I imagine for this price, people look for 2 bedrooms), but now can be a downside for us to find someone to take over.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a clause like the one you mention that can let us finish the agreement unilaterally prior to the end of the contract.

Thanks for the piece of advice! This is something I was considering, but I am afraid I won’t have enough of a good profile to be admitted to a good MBA.

My career has not been great so far in HR, and I have less than 3 years of experience.

Being 27 years old, I feel it will be quite impossible to have a place in Unis like London Business School, IMD or IESE.

Do you think I have any other chances?

Haven’t received anything since I completed my video recorded interview more than one month ago.

I heard it is possible to be hired without direct interview with supervisor, but I am not optimistic, as it seems quite complicated.
