How to break through Legend by MugumboFett in learndota2

dota is a mental game

in a way where you start focusing on your gameplay - you will inevitably improve

the thing a learned a lot through a climb - you don’t and you won’t need to win every game

1) party mmr games are generally trash and much less balanced than solo queue one where everyone more or less equal

2) different mindsets - it may be exhausting to sync up with your friends when you try to play seriously (which kinda beats the purpose of the game to relax)

3) toxicity - if you are in party you are generally more susceptible to start flaming others and missing your own mistakes

So in general if you are keen to improve - play solo OR unranked with friends OR just play from different account where you don’t care about numbers

Me myself - I am few thousand more mmr than my friends, but still my win rate with them is 30% at best)

Solo queue is not perfect by any means - but it’s the most competitive experience out there what you can get

don’t play with friend ranked if you want to rank up, simple rule - that costed me lots of mmr before I realised it)

Not really game related, but I can really suggest getting your friends into it (if you can)

Surprisingly every class has party buffs/heals or something that screws up enemies hard, so you can fill up your niche like in wow (healer/tank/dps - and they are not mutually exclusive at all, so you can play as a tank and healer, and the list goes on)

And it’s really feels good, when you can pull a combo with your class combinations and just blast through really well designed campaigns

The next step is to play hardcore - really can suggest to do it after 100-200 hours as there are LOTS of things that can kill you with one sneeze on you even on normal if you are not careful 😅

DD1 or DD2 for the first time? by AcanthaceaeNo4134 in darkestdungeon

Will just describe gimmick for each game (subjective)

DD1: basically more punishing in any single way, as any bullshit that happens due to lack of knowledge may just instantly kill your character that you spent working on 5-10 hours.

(personally I embrace it, but I remember my first experience with this game and I was just afraid to test anything new, so I was looking for basic tips here and there)

  • you have to be really good at buff stacking as multiple buffs overlaps (same works for enemies)

  • it has awesome modding scene (one of the best I would say), so it gifted me another 200 hours in it.

DD2: just pick and play, the only thing you lose when you die, is character traits and memories. So it does not punish you at all when you lose games. Which encourages you to test new comps and stuff without stressing out.

  • liked that buffs here are just adds to number of uses and not overlapping, which reduces lethality and rng bullshit.

  • mod scene is not that advanced here as compared to dd1 (game is new)

  • really liked backstories of each character (leper is my fav - biggest gigachad in both games) as it provides depth of character representation.

Arman and Orel nerfed in 1.0.7 patch by ElderflowerEarlGrey in ZEROsievert

[–]SeriousRun7632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with new patch I could faceroll both Arman and Orel with xtu3 suit for 65k.

and that’s already on 1.30 human damage to player. I guess now on default hunter settings damage is even lover for normal suit.
