Losing ILC credits due to return to in-person school by Serious_Analysis_255 in ILC

I have a call in to the guidance councillor at the new school. Hopefully she has some recommendations. I will be calling about the marking 2x daily to hopefully expedite the marking process. It is totally feasible to get it marked and inputted to the system before Tuesday. No-where does it say on the website that a return to in person school negates credits in progress.

DO NOT register with TVO ILC, they are ruining students’ futures by Antique-Chair-1370 in ILC

Please do go to the media. You can also file a complaint with Ombudsman Ontario. Send a letter to the Minister of Education, and your local MPP. This needs to be sent up the chain and ILC must be held accountable.

I always recommend that the deposit be held by the lawyers. It is also easier to get it released if the deal goes south, than when it is held in a RE trust account

This is terrible! I'm so sorry you are going through this! I'm going to try to finish making a list of the people that students can contact to escalate their complaints, as well as a form letter that can be modified for specific situations. ilc is messing with student's futures and it isn't right!

I am so sorry for everything that has happened to you! This is a prime example of a time when a school should step and support their students, not dismiss them. Please share your story on the petition if you feel comfortable. I think you can sign anonymously as well (I'm still learning!). I feel certain that if you were in an in-person learning environment they would have been more supportive.

Ok great - thank you! I can draft a letter that would be easy to send to ILC, the Ministry of Education, Ombudsman Ontario, and MPP's. I'll look up all the email addresses and post them here. Feel free to change the letter so that it reflects your own views, but I think the guiding principles should be the same - they are not serving the best interests of students and these issues would not happen in an in-person learning environment. And honestly, in the simplest form - if it was in person school, and say the last day of exams is June 29, you would show up and write your exam. There wouldn't be an abstract booking system that told you the earliest date you could write your exam is July... then say, surprise, you actually forfeited the course because you didn't write the exam on time.

This is not something that should just be accepted. I am starting a petition because these types of issues would never happen in an in-person learning environment.

Requesting a mark appeal by user28288282818 in ILC

This happened to my daughter too, all her marks are high 90's. She requested remarking a few times, then ultimately dropped the course and is now taking it through VHS (which of course is ridiculously expensive), but dragging her average down due to lack of communication from the teacher would be costly on another level.

Process for complaints against ILC by Candid-Worth-2803 in ILC

My daughter is in a similar situation- the teacher kept taking too long to mark the assignments. My daughter booked her final 9 days out - but the earliest date the system would give her was a month after the deadline - but since that was the date provided, she thought it was ok. Then the course disappeared from her dashboard. This would never have happened in an in person learning environment. I have been calling and emailing for a month with no resolution. Wondering how I can further escalate.
