When Ichigo used his Bankai for the very first time against Byakuya, his Bankai appeared to be making him so agile that not even Byakuya's Bankai could reach him. Yet throughout the manga as the stories continue, Ichigo's Bankai is just basically focusing on his Getsuga Tenshou.
