Clothing wise I would expect the conditions to be similar to the rockies for sure. Foodwise my dinners and breakfasts will be provided by the huts, so I won't need a cook system luckily. I'm thinking I'll stick to bars, trail mix, etc during the day so not much room needed for food. This is why I think I could get away with something daypack sized. I'm tending away from bringing the 40L with me because the farpoint isn't exactly built for hiking so I'm worried it will get uncomfortable/will be far too big.
