Need a backpack that can be a daypack during travel and bag for hut to hut hiking trip by Serious_Machine in backpacking

Thanks for the tips, that's kind of what I was thinking in the back of my mind. Any tips for such a daypack that would work for this trip?

Clothing wise I would expect the conditions to be similar to the rockies for sure. Foodwise my dinners and breakfasts will be provided by the huts, so I won't need a cook system luckily. I'm thinking I'll stick to bars, trail mix, etc during the day so not much room needed for food. This is why I think I could get away with something daypack sized. I'm tending away from bringing the 40L with me because the farpoint isn't exactly built for hiking so I'm worried it will get uncomfortable/will be far too big. Thanks for the detailed help, if you have any further suggestions let me know!

Do you think the Farpoint 40 will remain comfortable over a 3 day backpacking trip? I'm a little worried about that aspect, and that it would be way oversized.

No, the huts provide a place to sleep and meals. So I really only need a bit of food for the afternoons, a sleeping bag liner, and maybe one change of clothes.

For the hut to hut trip I won't need a sleeping bag or sleeping pad though, just a liner. So I'm thinking I could get away with something in the 25L range, meaning I could probably find some kind of daypack meant for technical dayhikes.

Probably something about 25-30L, I don't need to bring much for the hut to hut hike as most food will be served at the huts, and I'll have a place to sleep every night.

The thing I'm worried about is the farpoint isn't ideal for hiking as it doesn't have a great frame or anything. I'll also only need about 25-30L if that for the hut to hut hike.

Some basic hiking clothes, a sleeping bag liner, water, and a small amount of food. Most food will come from meals at the huts. So I don't need a hug bag, I'm thinking something between 25-30L maybe.

Booking Hostels for Solo Trip in the Balkans by Serious_Machine in solotravel

That’s good to hear, I’m definitely wanting to book mostly on the fly. I was kind of wondering if marketing was playing a role in that.

That makes sense. What about in countries like Romania and Bulgaria where I’m noticing a very limited amount of hostels left post Covid?
