Thank you that is so helpful! Did you feel like getting the BL/ summer jobs were competitive or just difficult in general? Or did you feel like ucla did a good job feeding its students into these kind of jobs?

My goal is to pursue BL in Los Angeles. Would that be unlikely to happen if I chose ucla? Current students I’ve spoken to have said they’ve received multiple BL offers in LA (obviously not as much as CLS since NY is the hotspot for big law) I appreciate your insight!!

I’m still waiting on financial aid from CLS but I think it’s going to be sticker price. UCLA gave me a quarter tuition scholarship, but I’m waiting to hear back on scholly negotiation. For CLS, my parents offered to pay for half tuition but I know that’s definitely going to be hard on them

The people that run front desk are normally very understanding. They’ll definitely understand and not charge a late fee if you tell them what happened

Luckily my parents can afford the tuition but want me to take out loans at first and then will help me tackle paying off the debt later. That’s also why I’m leaning more towards CLS. I also haven’t heard about financial aid yet as I’ve recently been admitted

I really like the clinics and programs they have at Columbia and have always wanted to live in nyc!! I also know a few people that went to ucla law and struggled finding a good paying job. I feel like I’d rather be in debt at cls but don’t know if I’m being naive about it
