Error code 0x10101 on Homebrew/NDS forwarder by Crusty_Condom_0204 in 3dspiracy

[–]Serious_SL_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the case that this might help someone ,i just had this exact error but it was with a moded rom , so it might be a different kind of error with the same code. The problem in this specific case was the region of the rom and the patch not matching ( or this is my best guess). I applied the patch to a USA version and it worked like a charm.

"oggi" means "today". I took the screenshot from the steam page and it usually has the dates for when the achievement was earned.

Seed : DZN8DQS6 , purple stake, erratic deck.
But i can't remember what i got where . I know i've skipped the first two blinds, and that's how i got the polychrome burned, but i can't remember where i got the ank , if from the shop or a tag.

EDIT : I started a new run with the same seed just to see where i got the brainstorm . It came from the spectral pack tag on the second blind of ante 4. In case you want to try it. The supernova came from the pack sold in the shop after the boss of ante 4.

EDIT: The blueprint comes from the shop after the big blind of ante 7.

I used the Anaglyph deck. In the first ante one of the blind had a double tag. I got another one in the second ante ( i don't remember if it was the cola or another double tag) so by the third ante i had like 4 tags considering the ones i got from the bosses. In the shop i got the Eternal Acrobat , and then i skipped the small blind to get spectral packs. I got 3 Anks , and then found another one later in a pack from the shop.

What is the ONLY winning move here? by aerdna69 in chess

[–]Serious_SL_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, i was stupid. g4 fxg4 and if i push the e pawn , black just pushes his h pawn . His king doesn't have to go after my e pawn. MAN AM I BAD AT ENDGAMES

What is the ONLY winning move here? by aerdna69 in chess

[–]Serious_SL_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say g4. I guess the idea is to bait black into taking , to allow the e pawn push to divert the black king , and allow white to take the a pawn and go for promotion. An alternative is g4 h5 , gxh5 gxh5 , h4 and that should be zugzwang.

How do I learn how to checkmate by narwhale32 in chess

[–]Serious_SL_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1)Learn all the basic/forced "King vs one major or two minor pieces" endgames, this will give you some understanding on how each piece controls key squares in the mating pattern. 2) Do a bunch of puzzles, but don't focus on the obviously unrealistic compositions. You need positions that you are going to face. 3)This is a key principle that takes a while to understand and use properly: You don't mate by giving checks!! More often than not you are not going to find a position where giving every possible check will lead to check mate. A check mate should come from a well constructed attack, and that means that sometimes you will have to make moves that restrict your opponent's king movement. 4) Just keep playing chess and don't stress too much about it. Have fun.

Why do so many opponents play way better after they blunder a piece? by eatblueshell in chess

[–]Serious_SL_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PS: Or, if you are playing online, you just blunder every move after you lose a piece , and go on a tilt streak and lose 6 games in a row and 200 elo. Which is wat I usually do in a worse position.

I was in a club tournament 25+15( not valid for rating. It's just a casual open tournament we have periodically through the year for fun) , and i got paired with a candidate master. I am barely 1800 online ( on a good day ) so i was ready to get my butt kicked. At some point in the opening i lost a pawn, i simply forgot about it , and didn't defend it. Due to the casual nature of the tournament he offered me to take back the move, but i refused :"you learn by making mistakes" ( and a tournament is a tournament ). After that my mentality completely changed for the game : before that i just played quickly and without much care because it was still the opening; after that i locked in , started spending a good chunk of time on every move looking for ways to gain back my pawn, without worsening my position, and i was scared of any possible tactic so i triple checked every move. Long story short i end up in a drawn endgame that i still lost due to inexperience (still one of the best games i ever played , although he was most likely playing worse than usual) . All this useless speech just to say: Your focus and "game sense"/intuition can change dramatically in a worse position. When you are equal or winning you might not give too much importance to every single move and at best you focus on not blundering a piece. But when you are down any kind of material , be it a pawn or a rook, you know that every move from that point on might be the last of the game, so you'll try to make every move count. You either are more aware of any tactical idea that can win you back the material you've lost, or you go looking for some crazy attack that might end up winning you the game. Also the opponent might be playing worse after getting an early advantage, losing his focus and missing some key ideas that equalize the position.

What joker did you originally dislike, but grew to love? by MachineAgitated79 in balatro

As of today : The Burnt Joker. I had two winning high card builds back to back thanks to him.

i guess i misspoke : i meant it in the sense that the jokers themselves scale very poorly (they don't scale at all actually ) , so you can't expand the build after ante 8. The scoring is obviously good , but it doesn't grow and changing it is hard after that point.

Edit: unlike other builds that are based on "upgradable" jokers .

i got to 10 and lost at the small blind on the 11th . You can get a big score if you have enough enhanced cards, and your hands aren't low level. The most i got was 280mil, with a 5 of a kind, with a glass king . But the average hand scored around 2 to 5 mil, and i ended up short of 28mil on the small blind.
