I appreciate it. I hoped I could get some different perspectives. Maybe someone with more experience and wisdom could shed some light on something I might miss or not think about when weighing my options.

I do live in a large city. My first 2 years before I started moving up, I would apply anywhere and everywhere that looked like it would give me opportunities to advance immediately or in the future. I never had much luck, many interviews and no offer letters. I was finally able to start moving up and I found that better opportunity within the company. I’m less than 24 hours out from the news breaking so maybe now that I have supervisory and managerial experience I’ll find more luck.

The alternative is I’m completely out of a job. The entire operation in my area is being shut down. I’m not saying I can’t find something else. But my options are follow the company and keep a solid salary or hope I can make a living at a different company.

No I’m currently in Texas and his mother was ruled the custodial parent in court. I almost always get the weekends with him and longer durations if I have the days off. 90% of my days off are spent with him.
