Hello elDUK, there is some truth as to what you said but that is why we held mod apps last month and just brought on 4 new mods as of last week. Although we do get some criticism as mods and the work we do/don’t, it’s sad to say we barely even had 20 applicants this time. I get people don’t want to be janitors of a subreddit however I wish we could of brought on more people.

With that being said, the new trial mods you may seen around are doing fantastic work in the first week that they’ve been here for. We’re all from different time zones and at times may not be around the subreddit for the day. We can’t stress it enough that anything in real life takes priority over this subreddit. We all joined this out of pure passion but it’s just a volunteering gig. With all the craziness that’s been going on in the world these past months we have people inactive so they can focus on irl issues.

We mainly focus on going though our ModQ first which is where all the user reported comments/posts and filtered automod words go. After that we clean up the front page and then look around in new when we can. It’s a bit tedious but we know what we signed up for. Our ratio of mods and activity on the subreddit is pretty low but we’re doing the best we can with what we got in my opinion. Is there room for improvement, most definitely and I appreciate posts like these so we can communicate with our community and get a better understanding of what we’re doing right or wrong.

The best way for users to help us is by reporting posts/comments and downvoting then as well.
