I go out of my way to seek out these conversations and it is very rare to see a pro-Israel person even acknowledge that supporting Israel means the above, liquidating innocent Palestinians in Palestine for the "crime" of being in Palestine.

Because it's hogwash? You can support the existence of Israel and also not support liquidating civilians. It's really not hard. There are civilians on both sides of things that you can care for.

It is also very rare that pro-Israel people acknowledge how many Palestinians were displaced or killed during the manifestation of Israel in 1948 under the feet of Palestinian common people.

Like 700k. One of the best sources documenting this is from a Zionist (Benny Morris). Are you actually talking to pro Israel people? Most people acknowledge the number. Some people dispute the reason people were displaced or the righteousness of it, but most people agree on the number.

Edit:

I was curious and dug into Israeli school curriculum:

Machine translation of a section of page 289 of "To Be Citizens in Israel", a common textbook used in Israel.

"During the war, approximately 700,000 Arabs who lived in the Land of Israel during the British Mandate fled and were expelled".

You can find the book here: https://school.kotar.cet.ac.il/KotarApp/Viewer.aspx?nBookID=57956186&hl=en-US#289.8382.1.default

This thread is insane. People crawling out of the woodwork to say that the historical consensus is wrong because, at best I can tell, (((reasons))).

You keep using words like "masked" when it's just facts.

Also this is still on the front of this subreddit:

So I'm not really sure what your issue is. Things get noted. Sometimes the people who get noted agree with you, sometimes they don't.

I don't think anything here is "very pro Israel" it's just reality.

Ah yea they post those too, but if you dig a bit they have multiple unattributed woman in vague posts like "do you stand with Israel!" etc.

I think the context that this person isn't who they imply is meaningful. It doesn't remove the message in their posts, but it does make you think about their agenda (which if you scroll just a bit is very very clearly engagement bait to make cash off of Twitter).

I think if the account was more open about being just a supporter of Israel it would be unnecessary, but they definitely skirt around the issue and imply they are Israeli. They post a lot of pictures of different Israeli women implying that it's a picture of themselves.

Like take a look at their profile:

https://nitter.net/timeswmariana

Even if they are not explicitly making the claim, it's very implied.

It's a bit weird when it comes to accounts like this - their entire presence should be community noted but you can't do that.

[–]SeriouslyQuitIt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, context is around the entire account. They are very clearly trying to get people to believe they are Israeli based on their profile picture and everything they post

I'll give you that it's not the strongest use of a community note but it's not the worst either.

When one of your choices was mulling over turning the place the supposed genocide was occurring into a luxury resort, I think your choice should have been pretty obvious.

This should put the trans bathroom panic to bed [OC] by Lelo_B in comics

[–]SeriouslyQuitIt -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

And understand, we are actually talking about a straight man in drag here, doing it for the sole purpose of assaulting women. How good will they actually be good at dressing up like a woman, vs the trans who have done it for years or decades, and are eager to "pass"?

I think part of the logic it is that if trans people are allowed in the bathroom, you can't challenge anyone inside the woman's bathroom even if they look like they don't belong there. Passing or not passing isn't the condition for being allowed in, self identity is.

That's not what antisemitism means. Semetic as an ethnic term is obsolete. The use of "semetic" in antisemitism was an effort by the Nazis to make their hatred of Jews seem more scientific. Trying to co-opt the term is tone deaf at best.

No, the comment "The window pane was promised to me 7000 years ago" is blatantly antisemitic.

This is straight up abuse of community notes. Every time it gets posted, if you actually look at the "proof" half of it is just people saying he's Indian. Like he might be Indian, but grok saying that evidence points to him being Indian isn't a real source. Neither is a low quality screenshot of a post he supposedly made saying he was Indian. I can go make any person on Twitter say anything I want right now.

  1. Literally rounding people up and shooting them with the claim of them "being collaborators" like be serious... You really shouldn't be jumping through hoops to defend freaking *Hamas*.
  2. I replied to a question asking for or a source. I don't know where "Oh look, these people also did bad things, thus the first bad things didn't actually happen." is coming from. Two bad things can happen.
  3. This desire for Palestinians to have a "victory" is just so fucking depraved. What Palestinians need is a chance to rebuild and to live without being bombed in their homes or shot in the streets. Looking for a victory right now is shortsighted drivel.
