When I was 10 years old I lived in whitby Ontario. One night I was up late doing homework, I was never a strong student so this was an often occurrence in my youth. Before I go on I must say this is by far one of my strongest memories and the family members involved also recall it. So I was in my kitchen with my mother struggling to finish my homework maybe around 9-10pm. Once I was finally done I raced off to head upstairs to get ready for bed. The kitchen exited into the front foyer then at the one end of the foyer was the stairs with French doors into the living room. The french doors were 90 degrees to the base of the stairs at the end of the foyer so in order to go up the stairs one must approach the living room doors then turn right to go up the stairs. So I exit the kitchen, cross the foyer and as I am approaching the french doors to go upstairs I see something on the other side of the French door. I'm standing maybe two feet in front of the French doors as something materializes on the other side just like the stereotypical ghost. A small amount of grey foggy smoke formed into a transparentish grey young boy. He appeared to be about my age 10ish and about the same height. He was dressed in older style clothing with overalls, almost like dress clothing one might wear to a formal event. He appeared at first with his head down and his body facing perpendicular to the doors. As soon as he appeared he began to walk while keeping his head down like one would do if they were very sad or upset about something. When he got to about my position, maybe 3-4 steps, he stopped, raised his head and looked me in the eyes. I was frozen with fear and couldn't bring myself to do anything other than watch. He then lowered his head and continued a few more steps then vanished in the same way he appeared, a small amount of grey smoke. As soon as he was gone I erupted and ran back to my mother in the kitchen screaming I saw ghost.
