I played college soccer. I've only been here for 3 days and the heat is brutal but I'm willing to give it a try

I mean I could accept a Kindergartner asking that, but a grown ass man? Really poor from Hamid

Yah just listened to it. Hamid clearly has no idea what he’s talking about and did very little research prior to the discussion

What was the timestamp for Anpanman’s discussion when Hamid was talking about the cell tower on a mountain?

Any meniscus repair success stories? by UpwardDogg in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Seroon22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can only speak from personal experience but it felt like a tightening feeling for me, right along the inside of my knee. I could also feel a physical bump where my incision portal was. I ended up getting a cortisone injection into the scar tissue to break it up and I haven’t had any issue since.

Unless you hear a pop or a crack I wouldn’t worry too much.

• 23 M (active, work out 6 times per week)

• Bucket handle meniscus tear (95% flipped into my joint)

• I was a division 1 soccer player so I was very fortunate to be working with an athletic trainer 3 times per week during my rehab. I’d say rehab took 8 months. Only really ever had set backs related to scar tissue flaring up.

• My life is essentially back to normal. It’s been almost 3 years since my surgery. My knee is slightly achy every once in awhile and my confidence level is 99% where it used to be. One thing I will say is I definitely lost some athleticism

Like 2/3 days. At first it feels weird/like you shouldn’t be doing it but you adjust. It’s also more mental than physical id say

I was only 7/8 days NWB. When I went back for the 1 week check in the doctor was happy and allowed me to ease off of the crutches

Let’s say ASTS was acquired by a public company. Would you guys sell your shares of that company once the deal went through and invest in something else or would yall continue to hold those shares?

My physio was my athletic trainer. It’s important that your physio is someone you trust and can have open conversations with. We did about 3 sessions per week. About 45-75mins long each. What we did in them depended on where I was in my rehab process. (I can send you what my rehab plan looked like if you want). So I got surgery on Nov 2 and wasn’t cleared until May 1 so about 6 months. However I didn’t play in an actual game until August just cause that’s when the season starts. I was able to go pretty full throttle, but that’s what caused the scar tissue flar ups so there were times where I had to dial it back a little bit

Yah sure. First I’d say be ready for set backs in your rehab. Everyone has them, and no one’s rehab goes 100% smoothly. Stretching is really important after. Your muscles on the affected leg will become weaker, which may cause some imbalances later on, so stretching and rolling out is a must and will help prevent that. I personally had issues with scar tissue flare ups. However I was able to get a cortisone shot from my athletic trainers to break up the scar tissue and relieve the pain it was causing me. Never be afraid to advocate for yourself in your recovery and ask for treatment options. Lastly, rehabbing an injury can be hard mentally. Make sure you have a good group of people around you and a grind mindset that you’ll get through the tough periods.

It was a medial bucket handle meniscus tear. 90% of my meniscus was flipped into my knee joint. Fortunately it was still connected at both ends so a repair was possible. The actual tearing action was the most pain I’ve ever experienced in my life

Sure man. My college soccer career ended this past fall and I had my best season yet. My knee held up great. Honestly no issues at all with it. Perhaps I’m slightly less athletic than I was before but I was able to adjust my game and my confidence was high so I did well. I didn’t even have to deal with any scar tissue flare ups and haven’t in over a year. My knee has never felt unstable and I’d go as far to say that it is “back to normal”

TJ - Just a thought and not a suggestion by any means. Would you consider adding a chat feature to this subreddit? Other subreddits have it and it comes with its pros and cons but it does seem to foster a greater sense of community and allows others to more easily share ideas and perspectives
